Pours a cloudy amber with a wistful head; stratospheric lacing throughout.

Smell is tangerine and grapefruit rind. Mild pine. Malty sweet and rich. Just a great tropical aroma. Smells like a double rich IPA.

Citra hoppy front with satisfying drying bitterness. Earthy hop and resinous pine. Sweet malt back that meshes well. This just borderlines par excellance.

Creamy and chewy mouthfeel. Just pure delight.

Move over west coast, ya got a contender. Wow, great impression from a local brewery. This is not just a home run, but a grandslam. I'm not even going to compare this to anything, but this beats a lot of imperials I've had. Basically I'm floored, especially the ABV suits me just fine. Would definitely buy again. 18th street-keep doing whatcha doing.

Hazy golden body. Aggressive head but no lacing.

Dense tropical fruit aromas. Over ripe mango, orange, grapefruit. Light biscuit malt.

Fresh and juicy mango and orange flavor. Bitter but with a fruity sweetness. Pale malt.

Juicy and sticky mouthfeel. On the lighter side of medium body.

It's outstanding and borders IPA territory. Great citrus profile, fresh and clean.

Poured into a tulip glass its a murky brownish orange. Soft creamy foam layered on the surface, leaves a little bit of lace up top.

Tropical fruit aroma, grapefruit and citrus peel with equal parts pale malt.

Tastes of overripe fruit, fruit cocktail, sweet pale malt. Resiny bitter grapefruit. Pretty malty, seems like a DIPA in APA form, if that makes any sense at all. Medium bodied and fairly drinkable. Not far off from NvU and the like, it's pretty burly for an APA but it's good.

22 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My second beer from 18th Street Brewery, brewed at Pipeworks Brewing Co. in Chicago. Expectations are high as can be based on this knowledge. My bottle lists an 8.00% abv rather than the 7.00% abv listed on BeerAdvocate.

Poured into an over-sized wine glass, per the death of my snifter.

A - Pours just under two fingers of soapy off-white head that recedes to a thick ring. Body is a beautiful bright burnt orange color. No lacing.

S - Smell is of fleshy ripe mango, grapefruit, some earthy pine, some caramel malt, creaminess, and a pervasive peppery rye smell that kind of throws the whole thing off, in my opinion.

T - Again, very nice performance from the hops: grapefruit, mango, papaya, tangerine. A bit of soapiness, some crisp malt, earthiness, and some dry peppery rye on the finish.

M - Feel is smooth, quick, juicy, and clean with a dry finish.

Overall, a nice beer, but I feel like it falls a bit short of what it tries to achieve. Very nice display of hops here, but the peppery rye feels unnecessary and intruding, to me at least. Hides it's high 8.00% abv well. Worth a try; I look forward to more from 18th Street Brewery.
