Micro brew kinda spot in a back alley kinda location..super cool, owner, brewer fella behind the sicks...bring in your own food, enjoy their own creations...enjoyable and chill outdoor space with multiple communal long tables... worthy spot to enjoy real micro brews and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

V-De Steeg is located in an funky spot in an alley off of Tennyson Street in Denver's Berkeley neighborhood. The inside of the place is small with a similarly patio that looks into the alley. Not very charming, but appealing in a dirtbag-sorta-way. When we visited on Sunday afternoon, it was pretty quiet with just a few small groups chatting and hanging out. The place has a dive-bar feel that is very refreshing when contrasted against all of the new, highly polished breweries around town.

Q-De Steeg leans toward Belgian ales and the three beers I tried were quite good. They are doing a number of gluten-reduced beers that tasted pretty normal to me. Nothing is going to rock my world here, but it is good drinking.

Ser-The bartender was a little goofy, and once he finished his cigarette outside, he was prompt to serve us too. He knew what he was talking about and could answer all of our questions about the beers. Glassware was appropriate for the beer style.

Sel-De Steeg had eight beers on offer with only one beer registering below 9% ABV. Oof. Most of the beers had a Belgian, Flemish, or Dutch angle to them, but they did have a one fruity, slightly sour beer and a strong pale made with Australian hops. It is always nice to get some non-IPAs on the list, but this is not a place to come session beers all afternoon.

O-I was skeptical at first, but the dive-bar vibe really grew on me. How many places can you drink a decent American tripel and watch both crew (rowing) and monster trucks on TV, while chatting with the bar tender about the silliness of gluten reduced beers? This place is the anti-hip brewery and the beer was good too. I would come back.

Hole in the wall, located down an alleyway, dimly lit with a Tv, but great selection of beers and good bartender.

Great small (very small) brewery tucked in the alley off Tennyson St. Complex full bodied, high gravity beers. None of the beers fit a typical style, but all are delicious.

This is a funky little place buried in a back alley - you wouldn't know it's here unless you knew it was here. But it's worth a stop in any event. They do a lot of European-style beers and some interesting experiments, and they like the sour more than the sweet for sure. I'm interested to go back and try the next round of new brews. Kudos for offering $2 samples so you can try a bunch of different beers, and that's exactly what I did.

De Steeg is 4 blocks from my house.
It is OK.
The beers are tasty.
The downside is: No food and the atmosphere is a bit stark.
This is great if you are into trying new beers and your focus is 100% on the beer.
Me. I like food. Yes, I know you have food delivered, but that is not what I want to do.

If breweries are your thing, then you should go to De Steeg.

bomb little brewery off of Tennyson up north of downtown. hard to locate, as the entrance is in the alley, but once inside the visitor is in for a treat, or shall I say several treats. tiny little 1.5 barrel system, brilliantly built, with a host of plastic fermenters and a little cold room. done on a budget for sure, but by very intelligent folks. maybe ten beers on, impressive for the size of this dimly lit taproom. a popcorn machine chugs away, and good looking people of both sexes pour beers behind a long wooden bar. all the beers are high abv, I notice right away that aside from a 6% or so mild, everything is near or over 9% abv. though because I have to drive, but fun because its around zero degrees out. great diversity of styles too, from oaked pumpkin to barleywine pinto noir hybrids and a delicious balanced house strong ale. I can see great potential here, and while nothing really floored me, the groundwork for big things is clearly there. a fun place and reasonably priced, I will be back for sure to try their new concoctions. impressive after only a few months of being open, check it out!

The mystery in this place's location was finally solved. A small sign (pic submitted) with no writing, hanging over some windows on a building down an alley. My beer nose found it...

Opens up to a larger space that belies the outside appearance. Seats about 40 + standing room. Bar is made from bowling alley lanes, pretty cool. Large chalkboard with drafts listed, abv and price. One dude works there: brewer, manager, acquisitions, server....Craig...nice guy.

7 beers on tap that included a pale ale with 4 differing dry hop versions (Centennial, Columbus, Wakaru, and the Ace). An English dark mild, an imperial pumpkin and a "house" beer which is about 8.5%
The dry hopped ales could use more hops to excentuate their profiles, but none were off putting. Other beers were solid.

Worth the trip to check it out. A new place and they added 4 new fermenters so they can be open more days (they run out of beer on weekends). Over time, they'll dial in the beers. Will go back
