In a 16 ounce tulip glass at the brewery.
Appearance - Deep amber color. Moderate head made up of very fine bubbles. Slightly hazy. Very good stickage. A handsome beer.
Smell - Very mild malt nose with a whiff of hops.
Taste - Toasty malt flavor. Marmite like bitterness. A touch of acidity. A bit sour. Hop zing on the backend.
Mouth - Very good carbonation. Nice.
Overall - I like this beer. I have two issues with this amber, however. First, this ale has a slightly metallic aftertaste. Also, why low gluten? Seriously, who gives a s**t about the gluten level?

This gluten-free beer somehow leaves a diet-coke-like aftertaste that just don't sit well with my palate. Otherwise the malt backbone and hips are well-balanced.

On tap at the brewpub in Solana Beach. I'd call this more of a Brown Ale, especially compared to the hopfest that Culture calls "American Brown." The Amber has an emphasis on malt with a restrained hop profile, and even lower alcohol than the American Brown.
The Amber is pleasant and quaffable without any distinctive flavors. Nicely carbonated. Almost a honey taste with a splash of fruit. Pale hazy brownish amber in the glass. Hops make a bold appearance eventually. Brewers says this is made with Willamette and Fuggles hops and rates IBUs at 26. Some tangy and appley fruitiness with a darker, slightly bitter aftertaste.
