I do enjoy a well done Kolsch, and from a can... interesting. Hopefully this hits nicely. Thanks to crapturds (reddit). No date, but that's typical for a can.

Pours a decent fizzy bubbly 1 finger airy head that tries to fade quickly but keeps getting knocked back with a nice column of bubbles streaming up to continue the head's reign. touches of whispy pacing, over crystal clear lemon cereal yellow color.

Nose is actually very well done for a Koslch, nice crackery grainy malts, toasty cereal grains, a mild lemony fruity like cereal note, little grassy, hay, etc, with a nice light crisp airy feel to it even in the aroma, faint hints of noble grassy slight floral hops.

Taste is pretty nice too, again more cereal grains, toasty and crackery, grainy, with a mild to fair sweetness, some hay and grassy flavors too. Fruitiness really comes through, a lager-like fruit flavor, can't really pinpoint a specific fruit but generic fruitiness, and hint of lemony cereal note. Mild grassy hops note, again noble like with hint of floralness. Mild soft crisp center, crisp finish with fair dryness, mild bitterness lingering, hint of a salty note.

Mouth is soft and crisp, bit lighter body, nice carb.

Overall pretty nice for a Kolsch, most American Kolschs are not well done, but this was pretty well done. A little sweet, and a bit on the fruity side, but that's not a big issue. Nice malts, nice hops, crisp, dry tasty, well done.

12 ounce can, canned on 11/03/2014 (date stamped on bottom of can). Served in a stange/Kölsch glass, the beer pours a gold color with about an inch white head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. The aroma is nice, the brew smells like bready malt, grassy hops and some lemon/orange peel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some honey and light floral hops. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's crisp and it's also easy and refreshing to drink. I'd probably enjoy this more on a hot day, but it was in the 50's here today (which is nice for mid-December) so that's close enough for me. So far I'm 3 for 3 with MadTree brews that I'd like to try again. $1.67 a can at Grain and Grape.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color and has some hints of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of bready malts and green grapes are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, but the green grape flavors seem to be a bit stronger and linger into the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This kölsch doesn't seem to be as flavorful as some of the other beers in the style, but is refreshing and easy to drink.

Not particularly impressive. Tastes and smells like a pilsner... Not sure even what a "Kolsch-style Ale" even is, but if this is a good example of one I have no choice but to assume that Kolsch-style Ales are really just Pilsners with another name.

On tap at Pies & Pints, Worthington, OH. Imperial pint glass.

Appearance - Bright gold, 1 finger bright white foamy head. Little visible carbonation. Nice lacing.

Aroma - Notable malty yeastiness. Definitely an ale. Pear; definitely very Kolsch, very "ale-y".

Taste - Clean malt arrival with straw-like estery bitterness. Straw, pear, ale yeast. Clean, lightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel - Creamy, frothy.

Overall - A very nice summer beer. Very "German" in character. Very "ale-y." Will be buying again, for sure.

This is a nice beer. Tastes kind of bready and floral with some dough in there. Not really characteristics I would expect to see in a kolsch, but it's a nice drinker.

12oz can into a pint glass.

Pours a clear light gold with a one finger white head. The head fades somewhat quickly but leaves a thin cap of lacing on the beer.

Aroma is extremely bread with some very light floral and citrus notes from the hops. Overwhelmingly malty though.

The flavor has lots of malty goodness but it is not sweet and remains restrained. Light lemon and orange is present in the background along with a light bitterness. Mouthfeel has some body to it but is light enough to be refreshing.

Overall, a nicely done Kolsch style beer. The breadiness is wonderful and it is very refreshing. Good job.

Beer has already been summed up. Clean, light, enjoyable and great for someone not looking for a punch in the face of flavor. Would see pairing this with some good food. Not sure this is true to style but good all around.

A-poured a three-fingers thick, rocky off-white head into a tulip glass that left great lacing throughout. The body is a bright golden color.
S-kolsch yeast with oranges and honey. The honey is very strong and adds a lot to this beer.
T- same as aroma.
M-crisp and quaffable.
O-tasty and complex kolsch.
