The aroma favored nutmeg, cinnamon, spice and of course pumpkin. The appearance is a little lacking with head being small and virtually none. It is off-white in color and mostly diminishing. The hue is a nice orange color. As for flavor, I found it a little sour with a bitter finish as well as the duration being short. On the palate, the body is light but watery with soft carbonation and slight alcoholic feel.

Poured an orange/amber color with ample off white/ tannish color. Kinda clear with moderate carbonation. Spiced aroma with some nutmeg, taste followed the aroma. No pumpkin taste, but did pleasant drinking nonetheless. Probably wouldn't buy a six, but maybe an occasional single in the situation presented itself.

There's not really anything exceptional going on here, its not very stand out its just one of those beers that's solid at being what it says it is. I would drink this again next year after working through the favorites

Pumpcan brewed by MadTree Brewing, with an ABV of 7.90% This pumpkin brew pours out of a 12oz can into a pint beer glass. The color is a nice copper brown color with a nice off white head. Really digging the copper color of this brew. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with spices , you pick up on ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, an definitely pumpkin. Mild grains an malts mixed with mirror hop bitterness as well, however the pumpkin an spices are definitely more in this brew. There is also a slight sweetness in the small as well. So far Pumpcan is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You pick up a nice on pumpkin flavors mixed with spices. Really taste like pumpkin pie, puts you in that mind set. All of the spices mixed together really bring out this brew. It is really hard to pick up on the 7.90% ABV in this brew, it is just that smooth. The body of this brew is a medium to heavy, but not to heavy. This brew would go nice on a cool fall day or with dinner. The mouth feel is Bold, Spicy, Pumpkin, Clean Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give Pumpcan a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again givin the opportunity too. MadTree Brewing did a super nice job with this pumpkin brew.

Madtree Pumkcan pours a gorgeous reddish amber, with an air-filled two inch head that does not last, but leaves moderate lacing. The nose is quite faint, with a whiff of seasonal spice mix. There is a bit of haze to the brew, but it appears to be from molasses, which adds a pleasing touch to the sweetness. and finely ground spices. Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice blend nicely on the tongue with the molasses. Mouthfeel is lighter than expected, a bit watery. I do not sense any real pumpkin mash here.. If there some, I suspect it would be called a pumpkin ale, instead of a spiced ale, and I suspect the motto might be something than 'IT'S A BEER, IT'S A CAN, IT'S A PUMPCAN'. They do achieve a nice taste on this @ MadTree Brewing Co., but it seems artful science just a tad too triumphant here.

12oz can poured into a goblet

A- Pours a deep amber brown color with a one-finger foamy light khaki head that has good retention and leaves some lacing behind

S- initial aroma gives a nice nutty and toasted malty note, along with some caramel. Spice undertones of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and allspice are present but not dominant

T- malty caramel up front is followed by spice notes lead by nutmeg and cinnamon, with undertones of allspice and clove. The finish gives notes of brown bread and more caramel, with the spices lingering after

M- medium body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns into a creamy finish

O- a solid base beer is a great compliment for the spices, well done

Canned on 7/13/21. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a murky glowing amber; creamy khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing. The aromas have hints of apple, caramel and spices, especially ginger. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. More apple and caramel. More ginger along with some cinnamon. Some sweet potatoes and yams definitely coming through. Hints of cocoa in the mix. Subtle sweetness. Low bitterness. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is nice. It's medium to full-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid pumpkin ale. It has a nice blend of veggie and spice notes, but the spices don't dominate or diminish everything else that's going on. There's a nice balance going on with this one. Not bad at all.

The first rule of The Great Pumpkin is to not talk about The Great Pumpkin. But when that notion manifests in a pumpkin ale, then we're suddenly going to talk all about it.

Deep and burnish amber, MadTree's PumpCan releases a tarnish froth while drawing in the nose with savory caramel, toast, nuttiness and a radiant perfume of fall spices. Shying away from yankee candle intensity, the moderate spices lead into a first sweet and savory sip that resonates like toasted granola, cracker-jacks candy and peanut brittle early on the palate.

A patient transition toward spices happen on the middle palate when the sweetness of malt turn over to a more toasty flavor of malt. This allows the perfumy spices to rise with those pumpkin pie flavors framed by cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove and cardamom. Trending mildly bitter and following a path of peppery spice, the beer works hard to finish like Amber Ale and not simply a dessert in a glass.

Medium full, rounded and robust with juicy and savory malts, PumpCan finishes warm, spicy and peppery to get away from the perfume and initial sweetness. This allows for a better sense of drinkability and dryness at the sacrifice of the overall culmination of pumpkin spice. Peppery, acute and piquant on the finish, the beer trails into a taste of toasted spice and charred wood.

Thanks Mike.
This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a ruddy dark orange to amber color with a slim finger's worth of white fizzy head. This immediately slid off and didn't leave any lace.
The aroma had some pumpkin pie doughy/maltiness then sweet syrupy/molasses, some allspice, nutmeg and some earthy hops.
The flavor followed suite by combining a semi-sweet to slightly spiced earthy character flowing into a semi-pie - like sweet aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Spices aren't distracting and allow for balance. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Nice pumpkin pie-like finish.
Overall, to me, it's reminiscent of Southern Tier's Pumking but actually better. I'd be willing to do this again.
