This "hoppy" amber would make a great summer beer for the drinker who likes a hop heavy lighter brew.

12 ounce can, canned on 11/07/2014. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy orange/amber with about an inch off-white head. Head retention is good, and there's a lot of lacing. The brew smells like citrusy (grapefruit, citrus peel) and floral hops, and caramel and bready malt. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also a bit of orange noticeable too. Great balance between the hoppy and malty flavors. There's also a nice hoppy bitter finish, too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and is well carbonated. I liked this brew, I might have to pick up a sixer of this soon. Got to try it at $1.67 a can, definitely worth picking up!

Much thanks to my buddy Richard for getting me this beer!

A: Orange amber with a hint of red, like Iced tea. There is a solid amount of off white head on top. The beer itself is fairly clear.

S: Hoppy, with light orange peel, and perhaps grapefruit and tangerine. There is almost a spiced bread thing going on that I like.

T: There is a nice hit from the hops.. touches of pine and orange. The sweet spice bread note continues into the taste. The hops certainly take the forefront in this brew. The finish is lingering hops, and perhaps a touch of toffee or coffee.

M: Medium in body, the carbonation is lively, and mid range. The is a lingering bitterness that is somewhat drying in the finish.

O: Overall a fairly solid offering. I think this treads the line between IPA and Amber... But it is certainly tasty.

A: Dark amber, caramel color with a bright white head

S: Hops! Malt! A balance of hops to malt is initially evident. Lots of citrus, grapefruit and a little bit of orange. Caramel and bread come through too.

T: Once again that perfectly balanced hops to malt shine here. Some pine and earthy malt with a citrus kick. The caramel malt sweetens things up with hints of toasted bread. Lightly bitter finish.

M: Decent carbonation, springy.

O: This is another great offering from Madtree. An absolute session beer that you could drink and drink and drink. The malt is definitely there but the hops kick this bad boy up a notch. /90
