I heard about this place a few months before it opened and I had wanted to visit ever since. A world class beer bar with a michelin quality restaurant in the back? You better believe I am in on that. Atmosphere was awesome. Tons of people enjoying themselves, beautiful bar and decor to match. Quality is one of the highest I have come across. Their draft system is state of the art, their build quality is amazing and their food is some of the best in the city. Service was a touch hit or miss. When they came around it was top notch but I was left with an empty glass for a bit longer than I should have been for sitting at the middle of the bar. Selection was pretty good on our visit. They obviously had plenty of Evil Twin but they also had some killer Belgian's that I had never seen before. If you include the back restaurant I am not sure how you can't say the food is world class. If you don't then it is adequate but nothing over the top. I got the bread and butter and while it was awesome I am not sure I really got my money's worth. Prices were high across the board, even more so than the better Manhattan bars. Overall this is easily one of the best beer bars I have ever come across. I look forward to visiting again the next time I am in the area. (1,264 characters)

Clearly the selection and quality here is top-notch, every beer is poured the way it should be, correct temperature. Everything is poured into the big Torst wine glasses, which is fine. The selection of beers on tap was really interesting, obscure European imports, some rare US craft, and everything in between. Obviously a large amount of Evil Twin.

Didn't get much food, but did get the olive plate, which was outstanding. Seriously, if you like olives, don't miss this one.

The prices are downright offensive, but when you go here, you know that going in, so you're prepared.

Service was good, bartender was friendly, willing to help with suggestions on the lesser-known tap selections.

Absolutely worth a stop, but bring a sack of gold with you. (754 characters)

A great place to enjoy quality brews, especially Evil Twin, which is the featured brewery. (The owner is the founder of Evil Twin). They have Danish food(the owner is Danish) that is mostly small and for snacking. The service is good and friendly. The decor is perhaps a little sterile and chi chi for me. It looks more like a fancy cocktail bar. Nevertheless, this is a cool place to hang and to enjoy excellent quality off centered brews. (440 characters)

A must visit beer place if you care about beer. Always new and interesting beers on tap. Knowledgeable staff and friendly if not on a busy night. Also a great bottle selection . (177 characters)

Cool place overall and very unique in design, function and offerings.

It does get overly crowded and loud on the weekends.

Some of the servers aren't really as educated on the offerings as they should be.

Prices are pretty steep for the portion sizes.

Generally speaking, things in Brooklyn, especially specialty brews are around 10-20% less expensive than in Manhattan, depending on the location and proximity to a subway.

Torst is by far the most expensive beer venue in the entire city if you measure dollars to ounces.

It's a nice place if you have the money to blow, and you will get some excellent beer, but not really worth the price in my book. (659 characters)

Great tap selection, and a super-impressive bottle selection. Cool minimalist design and vibe. 80s music blaring (maybe it was the night if the week), knowledgeable staff. Didn't eat, but the menu seemed appropriate and beer complementary. Prices on the high side, but there's no really cheap craft beer in NYC. Awesome place. I'll go back every time I'm in NYC. (367 characters)

An absolutely phenomenal selection of beers. The bar menu is great. I suggest the olives and the rugbrod, buttered. If I could get here more often, I certainly would. The bartenders are extraordinarily friendly, helpful, and make great beer suggestions, though, with a beer list like that, I don't know if they could make a bad one. Anyway, this place is a must visit. (373 characters)

Lives up to the hype. Could use table service, but that's hardly a dealbreaker. (79 characters)
