I heard about this place a few months before it opened and I had wanted to visit ever since. A world class beer bar with a michelin quality restaurant in the back? You better believe I am in on that. Atmosphere was awesome. Tons of people enjoying themselves, beautiful bar and decor to match. Quality is one of the highest I have come across. Their draft system is state of the art, their build quality is amazing and their food is some of the best in the city. Service was a touch hit or miss. When they came around it was top notch but I was left with an empty glass for a bit longer than I should have been for sitting at the middle of the bar. Selection was pretty good on our visit. They obviously had plenty of Evil Twin but they also had some killer Belgian's that I had never seen before. If you include the back restaurant I am not sure how you can't say the food is world class. If you don't then it is adequate but nothing over the top. I got the bread and butter and while it was awesome I am not sure I really got my money's worth. Prices were high across the board, even more so than the better Manhattan bars. Overall this is easily one of the best beer bars I have ever come across. I look forward to visiting again the next time I am in the area.

Nice place, great beer selection. Quite a bit of ET on tap, which is to be expected and I am not complaining. Food was great (Confited Duck sandwich was awesome). Atmosphere was not much to talk about, meaning the staff was a little stiff, which rubs we the wrong way. Not a 100 Rating in my humble opinion, but I would frequent if I live close by. Better places in NYC IMO.

Can nobody see this place for what it is... the tasting room for a gypsy brewer?

The bar room is over-designed. The herringbone wood inlay that is EVERYWHERE you look gives me headache, and the mirrors above the back bar with the beers written on them is quite possibly the stupidest design element I've ever seen in a bar. You can't read the writing.

Bartenders and crowd are the most insufferable beer snobs you will ever have the misfortune of spending what could have been quality drinking time with.

Different beer styles being poured at different temperatures, although gimmicky, is a good idea.

Now that Evil Twin is being distributed more widely, my advice is to drink those delicious stouts in better bars.
