Small industrial building a block off a fairly main thoroughfare with a somewhat hidden driveway and parking lot. Short dogleg left bar just inside the entrance on the left seats about a dozen, while the rest if the space is filled with tables. 16 or so beers on tap, the two IPAs I had were solid. Pork sliders were also very nice.

My daughter took me for an early father's day lunch Saturday. Been meaning to try this place for a couple of years now but it is not exactly on my beaten path.

Vibe was OK, typical industrial feel with the high ceilings showing exposed duct work. Community tables were in the middle of the restaurant area with individual tables on either side. Various pictures and artwork adorned the walls. 3.5

Quality of the beer was OK. Got a flight of six beers. The lighter Belgian was pretty decent but the bigger Belgian needs some refinement to the recipe (yeast strain). The ESB was OK. The IPA and Octomalt were solid and something i would have again. The Oatmeal Stout was very good, nice roasty notes and very smooth. 3.5

Service was pretty good but it was pretty slow when we were there which was roughly noon. Place may have been a quarter full. Server did not offer any knowledge of the beers as she was very young. 3.75

Selection of styles spanned a pretty good range for the twelve house offerings.

The food was so-so. My daughter had a hamburger which was not great but she ordered it medium rare which probably came out under cooked from the order. I had the BBQ Chicken flatbread pizza which was OK. But it lacked a crispiness to it. 3.75

Overall this place is worth a shot but i likely will not return. As mentioned this is not in an area i have reason to travel to. If i lived in the area i would likely return to meet with friends for a brew or two.

Update 2-3-2016: I did return with my brother last night. The vibe on a Wednesday night was much better than a Saturday afternoon in June. They had live music going on and the place was full when we left - 4.0.

The quality of the two beers i had was better than the last go around - 4.0

Really no change in the service rating - it was adequate. Servers were younger and were not really interested in chatting it up with a couple of middle aged guys. 3.75

Selection was decent as i believe there were 12-15 NMBC brews on tap. Since the quality seems to be better i will bump up the rating. 3.75

Food was pretty good, nothing special. I had the southwest burger - asked for it medium rare and it came out medium. 3.75

Dropped by this place when I was in Phoenix for Spring Training. This place was really tucked away and the parking was a bit hard to find (it's behind the building), but after getting inside I had a pretty good feeling that I would like the place. Nice full bar with plenty of taps, plenty of TVs showcasing a few of the NCAA basketball games (this was during March Madness). Inside is modern industrial with a high ceiling and lots of long, wooden tables with benches. Nice little outdoor patio with about four tables and some umbrellas. The weather was nice and warm so we chose to sit outside. Service was a little slow, but they brought our beers out pretty quickly. We both got the same order: Belay IPA and fish and chips. Beautiful, delicious beer and likewise delicious fish and chips, presented very nicely. It was a perfect meal and really hit the spot. The owner came around and offered us some samples, both of which were delicious. Would love to stop by this place again whenever I'm in the area.

this is my neighborhood brewery, which has been open for less than a year, and which I think holds great promise.

the food is very good, but the beer is somewhat uneven. My preference is for stouts, porters and IPAs - North Mountain has produces some pretty tasty small batches of both porters and IPAs, but most of their regular offerings are pale ales and bitter ales.

the ambience here varies... lots of wall mounted TVs showing sports and other programs, live music from local acoustic artists can seem over-loud in the small interior, but the quality is generally good. seating is sort of spartan, but I don't come for the comfortable chairs!

I look forward to tasting new brew offerings, hoping for more IPAs as the last few batches have been pretty good, but they haven't lasted long.

if you come to fill your growler, they have an $8 special on Monday nights that is hard to pass up.

Enjoyed this brewery, the beer was good and the food even better, using locally grown products made a huge difference. The Trippel was great however the remaining beers on the board lacked the punch I desire (but that is just me being picky). Worth a trip, good family place with live music in the evenings.

On multiple visits they've not had several of their beers on tap because they ran out. I figured it was a rookie mistake at first but it's more of a pattern now, or perhaps I'm just unlucky. All of their house beers have been mediocre at best. It's not that they were infected or deeply flawed, it's just that they were completely unremarkable and this is the last thing that Phoenix needs when it comes to growing its list of breweries. And frankly I'm not a fan of the seafood focused menu - or at least have more options for those who aren't into seafood. Guest beers range from poor to ordinary, with some of the Arizona guest beers being just as bad as their house beers. They ought to take a page out of Fate Brewing's book by having stellar guest taps for those who don't like the house beers. Parking is challenging here with limited spots and it doesn't help that this isn't a nice part of town.

Ok everyone, if this is a brewery review we need to level set. How does the beer compare to other breweries and not other restaurants? The beer just isn't good. It was difficult to finish. I had a flight in which, if blindfolded, i would have no idea what I'm drinking.

The saving grace was the selection of guest taps

The food was decent overall (the ox tail egg rolls were amazing, the fires were horrible)

The service was slow but nice

Really expensive. I could have gone to Houston's for the same price for much better food

Visited here on business from Louisiana.
This place impressed me a lot. It was very clean, great bar. The folks were very welcoming. I found much of the staff works double duty in the bar and brew house so they are very knowledgeable.
The beer was excellent. I'm no Grand Poobah of beer tasting, but I found nothing wrong with any of the beers. The IPA and brown ale were my personal favorites with the robust porter and Belgian coming in close behind. The brewery is still very yound and is still in the process of scaling up the recipes for their system, but the variety was very broad and refreshing. They also offered samplers and tastes which is a huge plus.

Overall, a great place to grab a few local beers and hang out. Highly recommended if you anywhere near Phoenix.

I will probably come back here again to see if the beers get any better but they still have that new place that makes beer that doesn't know what they are doing bugs to work out. Like so many places they have a homebrewer without any real training trying to step up his game. The place is nice, small patio area. Clean and bright. Service was good and the food is the highlight. The place might make it on the food alone even if the beer doesn't improve. Not really sure if Oysters and beer go together in Phoenix but time will tell.
