Appearance - Pours a dark but clear auburn red with a light tan 2 finger head. Good retention, leads to a firm layer of suds across the surface. Lacing is fair to spotty with good stick.
Smell - Caramel malt hits the nose first, followed by more subtle notes of roast and mocha. Hops are there but hard to distinguish.
Taste - Nice balance; malty upfront but with a solid hop presence near the finish. Malts hit on caramel, with lesser but noticeable notes of chocolate and faint coffee roast. Hops come in with a general grass-like bitterness, a hint of citrus peel and with a touch of spice.
Mouthfeel - More medium than light in body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, then a semi-dry finish.
Overall - One of the more roasty reds I've had to date. It nearly delves into brown territory; in fact it's quite reminiscent of their Coloma Brown, but lighter. This is good, but I prefer the Coloma which, in my opinion, is World Class.

Poured a finger of head on a clear, caramel colored body.
The aroma is nice, but interesting for a red ale: chocolate and milk.
The taste is balanced: mild sweet caramel and mild bitterness. Quite drinkable.
The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation.

Called an Irish Red Ale but actually an american ESB that's more like a malty pale ale with a twist.
Appearance is dark, reddish brown.
Taste is pleasantly surprising since not a huge ESB fan. Refreshing ESB quality but still has a strong backbone.
pretty decent, worth a try.

A: darkish red brown color, almost no head
S: Smells like Pete malt, caramel, smokiness
T: malty, smokey, has definite Scottish / Irish malt taste
M: large carb bubbles
O: I'd like to try this fresh on tap.I also like the smokiness of the beer, I think it comes through very well
