I had this at the Horse Brass Pub in Portland, OR while doing the walk on Belmont St from the cafe, to here, to the barrel house.

Nice clean amber appearance to the beer, solid 3/5" head on the imperial pint. Aroma was a little muted, but eventually you pick up faint notes of diacetyl like butterscotch notes. It was a negative, but not a massive one.

Flavorwise, the same aspect of the beer was not as bad, in fact it wasn't bad at all. It was very faint, which can actually make for a decent beer. It really wasn't even until I was about 8oz into the 20oz of beer that I was able to discern such a thing. Otherwise, the beer had a crisp, mild peppery edge to it from the rye.

The mouthfeel of those things, cascade hops, and the mildest butterscotch influence made for an interesting and enjoyable beer. 70 ibus.

Pours a good hefty amber with over 1/2" head on the top of it. Aroma didn't come off all that gusto, but with time and warmth, some buttery notes that spoke of diacetyl started to give me some concern. I dunno if the beer just needed more of a diacetyl rest or what, because it wasn't a total disaster, it just was slightly offputting aroma wise.

Those d notes didn't affect the taste as much, you could still discern the peppery impact of the % of rye malt going on in here. A lot of cascade hops in the mouthfeel, but you just couldn't escape the high ibu and d notes throughout what I imagine was a good beer if given another week to clean up. Or maybe it was just that the Horse Brass pub had dirty lines, but I dunno, I've had plenty of other beers there with no problem.
