A: Has a nice clear copper color. Good lacing, but head retention was lacking.

S: Wife said "sweet and flowery". I didn't notice that as much.

T: Doesn't do it for me. Just didn't stand out. Kind of a bitter aftertaste.

M: Mouthfeel was fine.

O: The majority of beers I sample are fine. The reason I use beer advocate is so that I know which ones I really want to buy again and which ones I can forget about. This is one I hope I never bother to buy again.

Poured out a deep copper with a big creamy almost-white head. Head retention is great aided by steady carbonation. The aroma is very mild, almost not there. It has very light pine hops notes with light bready malt. The taste is just OK, it's got a weird adjunct corn flavor (a recurring theme) and slight metallic tang on the finish. It has a fizzy body that's a little light on the palate. Hoped for more based on the appearance but it's not to be.

The bottle says enjoy before 5/8/14. I did, its 3/28/14.

A- Rich copper color, clear, loads of active carbonation. Creamy, fluffy off white head lingers on and on leaving considerable amounts of lacing.

S- Damn. Some nasty yeast experiment gone wrong. Sweet fruity aromas.

T- Sour, sweet, tangy. Sourdough bread. Like no pale ale I've ever had. Not in a good way either. Not very enjoyable. Glad this beer is only 11.2 oz. and not 12. Next.

M- Fizzy, weird. Sorry this is gross. This rarely happens.

O- I just dumped this swill out. Too bad after high hopes from the appearance. False advertisement. This is not a pale ale. But on the bright side I have a new bottle cap for the collection.

i have not had a lot of craft from mexico, and if these are the best they have to offer, i may prefer to keep it that way. this does not work as a pale ale, it has very little malt profile at all, and has much more of an esb aroma and flavor than a pale ale. copper colored and showing a half inch of frothy tan head that dies close to immediately. nose of sweet amber malt and ale yeast ive tasted before. a clean tasting beer, with come copper or minerals on the back end and not a ton of residual sugar given the nose, but i am missing the hops that make a pale ale what it is, just slightly bitter, its not enough to make it work. what i do like about this beer, and the others i have had from these guys, is the feel. all their beers are perfectly carbonated and lathery in feel, expansive and coating, while also being refreshing. its a shame the base beers are all so pedestrian. i will no revisit this one anytime soon.

11.2 fl oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Acquired this oddity as part of a mixed six pack at the local beer store. I'm not quite sure what to make of this, and not quite sure who actually brews this. Label says brewed and bottle by Cerveceria Mexicana, S. de R.L. de C.V. Tecate. Product of Mexico, is about the only thing that is certain.

Poured into a miniature pint glass with Victorian carriages printed on it.

A - Pours a nice beautiful burnt sienna orange colored body, with three big fluffy fingers of rocky tan head. Looks like a root beer float on top of a nice IPA. Nice sheets of lacing on the way down. Looks great.

S - Smell is of some caramel / bread malts, some tea leaf sweetness, earthy yeast, and some herbal grassy qualities.

T - Taste follows the nose: bready caramel malts, some green apple skin, dirty herbal grass, hint of citrus / lemon, some twiggy earthiness, sweetened tea leaves, hint of white sugar, & some coiny metallics on the finish. Not too bad at all, considering what it is.

M - Feel is crisp and lightly bitter with some herbal hoppiness and dry bready caramel malt on the finish. Some lingering green apple skin, also. Medium bodied with good carbonation, feels a little bit more full than it is.

Overall, I thought it was excellent considering it is a Mexican imported APA. Not too bad at all. Nicely built and flavored, especially for being such a low abv beer. I would definitely have this again, and I look forward to trying more from this brewery, whoever they might be.
