I had this fine ale at the tiny and incredibly awesome brewpub in Alpine a couple days ago. This is from notes.
Huge rocky ivory head that coats the glass with foam. The aroma is pungent west coast hops, resiny and concentrated pine and white grapefruit and floral notes. Hop savagery overwhelms the palate first sip. Huge citrusy and tangy tropical hop notes mingle with a brash bitterness. Malts are more prominent than I was expecting, providing an excellent bready ballast to the hop maelstrom. Booze is imperceptable. That and the amazing balance makes this brew dangerously drinkable. Hop oils abound and coat the mouth in the medium bodied mouthfeel.
This is stellar stuff. Really showcases the breadth and depth of American hops. Incredible.
