Huge thanks to Chugger from Ratebeer for this one. Never thought I'd see the day. Now, I wasn't blown away by Pure hoppiness so I really didn't know what to expect from this beer.
Pours a crystal clear, light golden straw body with a nice creamy white head that rests on top the duration of the glass. The initial presentation screams, "DRINK ME!"
Hello college days... smells like a big bag of pot with some pinesol sprayed in. Really stinky with some nice citrus freshness to it. A nice lemon compliments well, and some light grapefruit pokes you in the nose. I had a hard time keeping my nose out of the glass in this one.
This tastes basically like a hop tea. Huge pine and citrus. The lemon and grapefruit in the scent have assertively made their way to the taste, and the piney hops add that west coast flavor. There is a moderate caramel backing, but this is straight hops from start to finish which calls for a lack of balance, but one happy hop-head.
Serving type: growler
