Thanks for this bottle, Sid.
Appears slightly hazy orange with a fairly small head.
It smells of dank pine like and grassy hops. i get a mild mango and other tropical fruit smell. I get a ever so mild toffee like malt smell to this beer as well.
there is initially a sweet somewhat caramel and toffee like malt bite to this ale. a sharp citrus and mango like hop flavors. I also get a bit of a toasty malt flavor and a slight grassy hop flavor. there is a mild vanilla oak flavor that adds balance to this beer. the beer ends with a strong bitterness. due to other strong flavors in this beer the bitterness is deceiving. At first the beer does not seem that bitter but the bitterness lingers on the palate. the beer is very heavy and rich yet it hides the alcohol very well.
Great medium carbonation with a somewhat thick and creamy mouth-feel.
Overall this beer is a hugely complex, balanced and interesting. this is the most complex Double ( and or triple) IPA that I have had. this beer lived up to its good reputation. I am glad I have another bottle.
