Notes/Commercial Description:
A West Coast IPA that features Amarillo and Simcoe hops "in harmony," giving a light, floral aroma. Duet is nicely bitter with the perfect amount of malt concealed behind the hoppy goodness. Immensely drinkable, amazingly light on its feet.

A: It pours a beautiful golden color with really good clarity. There is a hint of amber when held up to the light. A strong pour into a tulip yielded a strong two finger head with ample retention. The lacing was just as impressive coating the sides of the glass in sticky foam.

S: No mistaking the nose on this one, hops are abundant and full of citrus and pine aroma. As I keep sticking my face in the glass, the hop aroma is so potent that it almost smells sweet. Amazingly the malt is not lost as hints of biscuity goodness and caramel waft from the glass (kind of reminds me of pound cake).

T: Tangerines and orange rinds come blasting out of the gate. It is really jammy and fruity in a good way. The simcoe hops are not to be out done as grapefruit and pine cones wash over mid palate. There is a strong grassy/herbal flavor on the back of the tongue as it finishes bone dry.

M: Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

O: Another great IPA from Alpine. Each one has been unique and impressive in their own way. Duet, in my opinion, was a very successful take on a dual hop beer. In the end it exhibited much more complexity and depth of flavor than I thought it would.

Delicious!

I’m glad to say that this, my first taste of an Alpine beer, lived up to the hype.

It pours a golden-tan with exceptional clarity. I get a great citrus aroma and some light piney notes. There’s a lively citrus flavor and a light bittering on it. I enjoyed this repeatedly when I found it on tap. An all around well done IPA that hits all the right notes.

A: Pours more of a gold color but when resting in the glass it is gold with a slight orange hue, leaves a frothy head that takes awhile to vanish, leaves some nice lacing on the glass as well

S: A perfect balance of pine, tropical fruits, grapefruit, slightly sweet malts, and a hint of bitterness, fantastic smell to this brew.

T: Up front you get a lovely greeting of pine sand grapefruit mixed, then it transitions to those lovely tropical fruits, and finishes with a perfectly balanced mix along with the perfect amount of bitterness. This beer is so well balanced and flavorful, it is absolutely outstanding!

M: Superb mouthfeel, so light crisp and refreshing, leaves your mouth a little dry which leaves you begging for more! So drinkable as well!

O: This beer is phenomenal! Get your hands on it!

Poured this 22 oz, undated bottle into a Spiegelau glass. The body was crystal clear and copper in color. The head was white and foamy, it left speckles of lace.

The smell was so vivid! Citrus and wet hay. Peppery. Dried pineapples. A little sweaty. Lime peel. Leafy, organic hops. yum.

The taste was of citrus and pine. Green, grassy, fresh hops. Slightly sweet with an aspirin-like bitterness. Stone fruit flavors in the middle with a nice lingering bitterness in the finish. Classic.

The body was medium and the carbonation was moderate.
