Appearance - Poured from a 22oz bottle into my SA Perfect Pint with a copper, golden color. Over an inch of white, chunky looking head that is slowly dissipating leaving some great looking lacing on the sides of my glass.
Smell - An overwhelming smell of citrus and sweeter passion fruit (such as ripe mango, orange, a hint of pineapple) is on the forefront. Reminds me of The Oracle's nose. You don't get a whole lot of pine/hops attacking you, however, they are definitely there just subdued. Accordingly, there is a bit of a sweeter smell to this than other D/IPA's I've had it would appear.
Taste - Just as it smells, a huge burst of citrus invades the palate. However, there is a dominate ripe orange flavor. With many other D/IPA's, they have a "peel" taste (meaning they taste like a fruit but the bitter peel of it instead of the ripe center). This is not the case. There is a great ripe citrus orange taste which gives way to more of the tropical fruit notes. However, amazingly, this flavor is not overpowering. All throughout there is a hint of bitter hops which balances the more malty ripe citrus taste. At the end, it leaves just a hint of a bitter taste which honestly leaves you wanting more so you can have that great orange citrus taste again.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, creamy, and decent carbonation. If you swish your tongue around when you have a bit of the beer in your mouth, you can taste the hop oil ever so slightly running over your tongue.
Drinkability - Extremely so. A very enjoyable beer that has utter amazing taste. Up until a month or two ago I had never had nor heard of Alpine. My local beer store recommended I get Pure Hoppiness and Nelson (I enjoyed Nelson over PH). Both beers were very good and I went back and picked up two more by them. Sadly they are out of Nelson or else I would have picked up another one. Overall, a very great beer.

Bottle poured into an IPA glass
A - Big golden straw color with a solid two finger head that lingers. Lots of carbonation.
S - Dankness, grapefruit, a little citrusy, not a heck of a lot of malt in the background. Very hop forward.
T - Hops! Grapefruit forward with some dankness. A touch of citrusy hops with just the right amount of bitterness. Crushable.
P - Prickly with a nice bitterness without being overdone. Active carbonation on the tongue. Dry finish.
O - Much better than Nelson imo. The taste and mouth on it are pretty spot on for a DIPA. It's quite dry without much malt presence.
