3/2/11 - poured from 22oz bomber into a Stone IPA glass. I've also previously sampled this beer at O'brian's.
A: Pours light orange with one finger thick white head. Head retention and lacing are fantastic with this pour and glass. Sticky lacing all the way down the glass.
S: Outstanding, with fresh Simcoe hops, pine, citrus, and faint malt in the background. Comparable to Pliny, which in my opinion, is the best smelling beer out there.
T: Again, exceptional. Strong hops and grapefruit up front, with a dry bittersweet finish. Nice mix of bittering and aromatic hops with moderate malt profile. I'm not sure if someone poured a Pliny and this beer next to each other that I could tell much difference. One major difference is a slight alcohol taste on the finish.
M: Is thin to moderate with medium high carbonation. A little watery at times.
D: Not sure how many of these I could finish. This bomber won't be an issue, though. Great work, Alpine.

I’m glad to say that this, my first taste of an Alpine beer, lived up to the hype.
It pours a golden-tan with exceptional clarity. I get a great citrus aroma and some light piney notes. There’s a lively citrus flavor and a light bittering on it. I enjoyed this repeatedly when I found it on tap. An all around well done IPA that hits all the right notes.
