A West Coast IPA that features Amarillo and Simcoe hops "in harmony," giving a light, floral aroma. Duet is nicely bitter with the perfect amount of malt concealed behind the hoppy goodness. Immensely drinkable, amazingly light on its feet.

Pours into an impy nonic a clear a clear honey-like color with a tight formed half finger frothy white head atop.Tangerine, overripe pineapple, and leafy hops over top of a sugary malt base.Great hop complexity on the palate, tangerine, orange, pineapple, and slight grassiness,a sugary slightly doughy malt base is there thru the finish.A great hop complexity to this IPA,as good as advertised.

Bomber > Tulip Glass
A - Mostly clear deep orange color with a two fingerr foamy white head, medium lacing.
S - Dank with tropical notes of payapa and guava, pine, grapefruit, caramel malt.
T - Lots of dank hops, pine bite with tropical fruit flavor, lightly sweet caramel malt.
M - Kinda chewy and a tad soapy, but balanced bitterness.
O - Really good IPA, wish I could have had the original from Alpine, but at least I had it, worth getting.

Fresh bottle served in a tulip glass.

Appearance: bottle is tall and thin branded both with Green Flash and Alpine logos. Beer pours a well carbonated golden yellow with a nice 1 finger white head. Very clear and classic West Coast IPA looking.

Nose: piney, citrus, grapefruit, a little malty sweetness, orange peel

Taste: bitter and delicious, piney, citrus, oranges, some sweetness, enough body to balance the delicious beer.

Overall: one of the best IPAs I've ever had, my first from Alpine. I'm glad Green Flash is distributing their beers not. Maybe I'll see some of their barleywines this winter.

Appearance - light copper in color. Smell - hoppy citrus smell. Perhaps rinds. Taste - citrus rind on intake but on breathing out it is like Two Hearted. Nice. Overall - this is good. I'd drink again.

Had on draft at the Golden Gate Taproom, in San Francisco

Very good looking golden pour. A little hazy. One-finger head. Lots of lacing throughout

The nose was very good. A bunch of different citrus fruits. Orange, mango, and grapefruit. Great pairing with piney/dank hops

The taste was great. All the citrus fruit were present. Really liked the dankness and piney attributes of the hops.

Medium bodied with strong carbonation.

Overall, a great beer. First beer I have been able to enjoy from Alpine, and it definitely has me wanting more.

out of a growler served in pint glass, look was a lighter amber poured a great head with lasting power, great lacing throughout, smell of floral and faint citrus, taste was balanced hops were approachable with a 40+ IBU, feel was absolutely clean and fresh, all this for a very balanced and approachable IPA, good for the person trying the style.

22 ounce bottle, embossed with the Green Flash logo.

Golden amber pour. Half finger of tight knit bubbles in a frothy white head.

Aroma was surprisingly faint. Some citrus and candy-like notes. Not particularly hoppy.

Smooth drinking. More citrus, pineapple, cotton candy, slightly chewy, faintly bitter. Again, for an IPA, the hop is surprisingly lacking. It was smooth and drinkable but the hops were lost. Bottle had a best by March 17 - 2016, I'm not sure where that placed production on this (September 17 - 2015?).

Overall, it was not a bad beer but it just lacked the hop profile that we've come to expect from so many good IPA's that are available today.

A: This poured a clear light gold with a little white head.
S: It tasted like fresh grapefruit, with some pineapple and papaya and dank herbal hops and sweet honey malt.
T: It tasted like bitter grapefruit and herbal hops, with some sweet pineapple and papaya and honey malt. It had a clean bitter aftertaste.
M: It was watery with a little carbonation. Light body.
D: This was a solid IPA, with delicious scent and taste. The body was a little weak, but the finish was smooth, so it was easy to drink. One of the better IPAs I've ever had.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Poured from a Green Flash embossed bottle. Pours a medium coppery amber with a thin white head that dissipates to patches leaving light lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, piney and citrus hops with a light dankness, grapefruit and a hint of light stone fruit.Flavor is citrus and piney hops, mildly dank, orange and grapefruit citrus, light tropical fruit, subdued but sturdy caramel malt. Finishes with lingering, lightly resinous grapefruit and piney hop bitterness. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A very nicely balanced, hoppy IPA with an emphasis on the herbal flavors of the hops as well as good assertive bitterness. Pleasant mixed fruit flavors from the hop combination. A quite nice IPA. I'm not a big fan of Green Flash's hop flavors usually, but they did a nice job on this one. I've never tried the Alpine brewed version, but this is great. Matches surprisingly well to its brewery description: balanced with malt concealed behind the hoppy goodness.

Pours two fingers of head on a clear straw body.
The aroma is dank grapefruit.
The taste has a building citrus bitterness that finished with a solid pine bitter bite.
The texture is crisp.
Pretty good.

Raw hop power all the way, just like every Alpine I've had so far. It actually tastes like a hop pellet was simply dropped into the beer at the last minute.

*Edit- I had this on tap the first time I tried it, and now Im sipping on Duet poured from a bottle and it is much much more well balanced. Actually bordering on malty, and its fresh. Interesting thing going on with the whole Greenflash/Alpine thing.. This is a totally different beer.

Another bottle from Alpine distributed to NorCal. Best by date: 17 MAR 16F15280.
Look: Airy head and amber.
Smell: Citrus and tropical.
Taste: Some pine but follows with tons of tropical flavors, pineapples and mangos.
Feel: Perfectly carbonated with small bit of bitterness at the end.
Overall: This is pretty close to when I get it on draft, Alpine or Green Flash.

Poured from bottle and what a huge hit of hops this is. West coast all the way. Grapefruit all the way accompanied by guess what pine. Is it better than all the other west coast up as I'll let you be the judge.

Poured from bottle with a photo of Alpine Church underneath the Alpine beer co logo. Clear orange with white head of about a finger tip deep giving off the aromas of Pine, and citrus along with floral and hops in the air. Lacing is sticky. Love the taste of this west coast IPA that feels your mouth with a great hoppy flavor, piney. Amazing taste! Thank you Alpine beer co for never disappointing!

Gold to light copper with a finger of white surrounding the rim and the vast majority of the top. Excellent clarity. Moderate lacing. I'm really reaching to smell much other than a light piney hop aroma. The taste is very original with a fantastic blend of floral and piney hops. The mouth is sticky, chewy, and I'm left with a light hop burn.

This beer pours a lovely orange amber color with a nice bright white head that leaves good lacing. Smell is sweet malt, peach, lemon, grapefruit, pine and dankness. Taste is the same. Feel is medium and a little bitter. Overall this is a fantastic IPA, would love to find more.

On tap at Oak & Oar OKC. Pours a hazy orange with a healthy finger of white head. The aroma is citrus, some tropical and a bit of malt. Taste is similar to the nose. There's some orange and a bit of grapefruit. There's quite a lot of bitterness on the back end. Medium mouth and it's fairly dry. This is a solid IPA.

A - Off white head with somewhat of an orange tint. Frothy.
S - Citrus, leaning more towards orange than grapefruit. Somewhat peachy with some herbal hops.
T - Brief caramel sweetness follow by a bitter hop middle. Orange and peaches come out immediately after the intense bitter hit. Bitter hops come back on the back end and disappear as the beer washes down. Interesting complexity.
M - Carbonation doesn't really seem to come out. Drying astringent finish. No real lingering feel or flavor.
O - Light but complex at the same time. Not a combination that is often found.

A: Orange, amber color with a nice creamy fluffy white head, lots of lacing, not much head retention, cloudy, some carbonation.

A: Sweet malts come through really strong, fresh pine needles, grapefruit, citrus rind, not getting any alcohol on the nose.

T: Piney, citrus rinds, bitterness, sweet malts at the end on a dry finish, tastes great.

M: Medium mouthfeel, dry finish.

O: I really liked this, citrus bitterness reminded me of fresh grapefruit rind, citrusy bitterness is prevalent, I picked up a strong malt presence, but really leans towards the bitter side than maltier side. This beer is definitely worthy of another purchase.

On tap at BC's Pizza & Beer

A: Pours deep golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces very well.

S: Bright citrus and tropical notes, a little pine, a bit of dankness, and some caramel malt sweetness.

T: Big citrus and tropical fruit, passion fruit, grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, some pine, a little dankness, and just the right amount of caramel malt sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, very drinkable.

O: Very happy to get my hands on this one. 2 of my favorite hops working together beautifully.

So I walk into my local pub and the barkeep who knows my preferences asks if I want a duet. I haven't had a chance to look at the board listing for 40 taps, but I trust Shane and say ok. Taken by surprise. Resinous with hops is a good description. Exceptional feel with good balance. Wish they would keep it on regular.

Not an overehelming amount of hops on this one, more of a medicinal flavor with a bit of astringent kick. Most of the bitterness comes on the back end but it is pretty well balanced. Very slick oily mouthfeel, quite resinous.

Pours slightly hazy but nice golden color. Beautiful floral aroma with nice head and creamy lace. Smooth first witch is full of hop flavor but no rough bitterness. A clean crisp back finish. Love this beer and it's been around. Just discovered it. Highly recommend.

9/5/15 DE

Pour dark orange with pretty decent head. Nothing too impressive but if you like darker side ipas then you'll love it.

The smell is a little sweet with nice passion fruitiness.

The taste is great. And the feel is great. Is say it's a heavier hopped beer that doesn't really fit the piney west coast mold. For me that's great. I like citrus and smooth. Which this kicks ass for the feel and the fruity hop taste.

Overall, love this beer. I've had a few alpines and all so far have been top of the game. This one might be one of their best.
