Bottle in trade from a generous dude. Thanks! Pours a beautifully clear light golden color with big fluffy white two finger head. Massive aromatics coming from this, with grapefruits, sweet honey, flowers, more citrus, some creamy sweet wine like aroma as well. Not like anything I have smelled. Flavor begins with a light sweetness on the tongue, and explodes into raw hops, grassy, grapefruit, honey, melons. A nice bitter pine on the way down. The flavor has a pleasant creamy mouthfeel, with sweet honey and big juicy hops. So light on the palate, with medium high carbonation. Up there with the best of them, especially in the single IPA category.

Huge thanks to drbenzo for this one

A: Pours a hazy yellow/orange color with about 1-2 fingers of white foamy head. Leaves nice lacing throughout the glass.

S: Grapefruit, Tangerine, Orange, mango, slight lemon quality. Some herbal spice and breadiness comes through. Really great aroma.

T: Wow! Big juice flavor. Same fruit flavors as on the nose, A little peach also that I did not pick up on in the smell. Nice hop bitterness is also present. Picking up a nice slight spice flavor that turns to a breadiness at the back end. Superb.

M: Nice medium body. Carbonation that is not too much, nor too little - just right. Has a dry finish to it that is really nice.

O: Again, huge thanks to drbenzo. He also sent me Duet and Pure Hoppiness. Of the 3, this is hands down my favorite. One of the best IPA's I've had. Since getting this bottle I have actively pursued more bottles. Outstanding. Seek this one out - you will not be let down.

Appearance: Light hazy orange color with some yellow as well. Good lacing. Small head hangs around.

Aroma: Just wonderful. Lots of citrus with some spicy rye character. Grassy notes as well with hints of white wine fruitiness and grapefruit. Very big aroma and everything works together perfectly.

Taste: The rye spice manifests itself quickly along with some of that same grassy character. Hints of tropical fruit and lots of grapefruit/citric peel flavors. The malt is light but the rye spice seems to tie everything together. Bitterness is assertive, but the beer remains super drinkable.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation seems slightly lower than most IPAs, though the beer is still well-carbed. Finishes dry with a lingering citrus peel bitterness and hints of stonefruit. This slightly diminished carbonation and medium body leads to a mouthfeel that borders on creamy at times.

Overall: More or less a toss-up between this and Hill Farmstead Susan as my favorite American IPA. The aroma almost keeps me from drinking this beer so I can just keep smelling it. Almost.

Thanks to eyebereej for sending this one! Reviewed from notes. Poured from a bomber into a Cigar City pint glass.

A: Pours a light gold with mild haze, lots of visible carbonation, and 1 1/2 finger's worth of white fluffy head. Very pretty.

S: Tropical fruits, grapefruit, melon, lemon, grassy and a bit of dank and resin. I do feel like there's some white vinous character as well, but I don't know if that's just the power of suggestion from the label.

T: Tropical fruits, melon, a bit of spicy character; then citrus (lemon and some grapefruit). The resinous pine that I got in the nose doesn't appear in the palate. A light cracker malt lurks underneath the cacophony of hop flavors. Only mildly bitter on the hang for style.

M: Light body, good carbonation sensation, and the alcohol is well-hidden.

O: Nelson's not always my favorite hop, but this is really quite enjoyable. Wonderfully crafted IPA. Glad I got to try it.

Had this beer on tap at Alpine. I really enjoy going there. Not fancy - just down to earth with good people, food, and beer.

The pour was totally filled the glass leaving only a skim of white foam on top. No problem though - I appreciate the full pour. The beer was a clear gold/yellow color showing lively carbonation. The aroma was very citrus to me - grapefruit and orange, backed up by some fruitiness. I could also pick up nice pale malt. The taste was a nice balanced Nelson hop flavor with pale malt. The mouth feel was medium body with nice lively carbonation.

This beer is a very good example of a beer with Nelson S. hops. I generally am not a big fan of that hop but I fully enjoyed this brew.

Pours pale straw colored gold, foamy head settles to a comfortable pillow of fluff on the surface, tight lacing. Nose is cantaloupe, grapefruit, passion fruit, and pineapple hoppy aromatics, more pine as this warms, with spicy caramel malt in the finish. Taste is light melon, grapefruit and heavy pine, strong bitterness with a softer finish, light caramel malts and rye spice. Bright palate, mouthfeel remains light, very drinkable.
