A - Beautiful orange-tinged gold with a dense, two finger, rocky, creamy white head. Excellent retention with moderate-high lacing. Surging carbonation at first settling to a subtle champagne-like effervescence.
S - Hoppy aroma jumps out as soon as the bottle cap is popped. Nice citrus, floral, pineapple nose with some pine and malt in the background.
T - Bright and fresh floral hops, with apricot and citrus fruit coming through loud and clear, with subdued pineapple and caramel malts. A hint of salt water taffy springs up here and there and there is just the most fleeting hint of coconut. Mellow pine lingers at the finish.
M - Medium body with smooth and slightly oily feel. Once it settles down the carbonation is fairly light to medium.
D - I think I'm in love... many mistresses have I. Very drinkable.

22oz bottle, thanks Dustin. Poured into a Surly goblet today, 3/4/2014. Not the first time I've had this but the first time I can review this..
App- clear straw yellow body, disappointingly thin white head with weak retention. Good lacing.
Smell- smells reasonably dank, like fresh hop pellets. Earthy, floral, grapefruit, pineapple. Pretty solid.
Flavor- better than it smells. More citrus and pineapple come out on top of the floral notes. A nice crackery, caramel malt backbone.
Mouthfeel- a bit thinner than I'd like. Fair amount of carbonation, nice dry finish. Not too resinous or thick. Quite bitter but clean.
Overall- solid IPA. Nelson is definitely the best one of the Alpine trio. This may very well be the worst of the three which isn't saying much since this is more than solid.
