American Double / Imperial IPA |  8.00% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
This brew uses several varieties and multiple hop additions to the kettle as well as a large "hop back" to give the bitterness and aroma a start. Plenty of dry hops finish it off and give a big hop bouquet.
Draft & 22oz bottles.

A dark golden color was crystal clear. Two inches of white frothy head faded rapidly. Average amount of medium sized carbonation bubbles meander up. Sticky lace clumps.

Sweet citrus like orange peel and pine blend up front. A hops bitterness is also quite strong in the nose. Malt is a bit subdued, and has a faint honey wheat bread scent.

A bitter apple taste up front was surprising. Buttery malt and a hops bitterness are balanced very nicely. Pine taste expected from aroma is just barely noticeable.

Nice thickness without being heavy, but tastes linger. Carbonation tingle is balanced well.

A great brew. Would work well with a sandwich on a croissant. Surprising flavor after the hints from the aroma. Well worth trying for yourself.

If you really like malt forward, bitter IPAs, as opposed to fruity, tropical IPAs, then you'll like it.

It isn't clean. It's dirty and earthy and bitter. The hops are harsh. The beer lashes at your tongue.

And I love it.

This is not Heady Topper. It is not fun. It is beautiful in its own way. Darker than your average IPA, with a light head. Perfect IPA mouthful. So much onion flavor. Green onion and yellow onion.

And delicious.
