Picked up a bottle today from Joey at South Bay - fresh from the brewer!
It pours with a nice, light amber color. Snowy white, creamy colored head. Sticks around quite awhile.
The nose is fantastic. At first I am very put off. I catch some notes that remind me of juniper - very gin like. Piney even. Also a big whiff of flowery esters, riding on some light citrus undertones.
Taste is supremely unique. Bitter to the max, balanced very lightly by sublime malts. Earthy and perhaps a little over the top, but in a good way.
Mouthfeel is interesting - as others have noted, the carbonation is as excessive as the hops. Very enjoyable though.
Not sure I could drink a ton of this stuff, but I am more about savoring it than chugging through. Overall I am not a huge fan of IPA/DIPA/hops in general - but I enjoyed this beer a lot.

22oz bottle, thanks Dustin. Poured into a Surly goblet today, 3/4/2014. Not the first time I've had this but the first time I can review this..
App- clear straw yellow body, disappointingly thin white head with weak retention. Good lacing.
Smell- smells reasonably dank, like fresh hop pellets. Earthy, floral, grapefruit, pineapple. Pretty solid.
Flavor- better than it smells. More citrus and pineapple come out on top of the floral notes. A nice crackery, caramel malt backbone.
Mouthfeel- a bit thinner than I'd like. Fair amount of carbonation, nice dry finish. Not too resinous or thick. Quite bitter but clean.
Overall- solid IPA. Nelson is definitely the best one of the Alpine trio. This may very well be the worst of the three which isn't saying much since this is more than solid.
