Appearance: Pours a clear honey color with 1" of eggshell white head, which has nice retention and decent lacing. Good amount of carbonation. Very good looking beer.
Smell: Slight caramel malt base apparent, with heavy citrus and bitterness. 4.25
Taste: Caramel malt sweetness, followed by orange rind, more citrus, and an abundance of bitterness on the finish. Excellent hop bomb.
Mouthfeel/overall: Light to medium bodied beer with a good level of carbonation. Nice. Overall, a very good IPA with great hop flavors. Another winner from Alpine.

If you really like malt forward, bitter IPAs, as opposed to fruity, tropical IPAs, then you'll like it.
It isn't clean. It's dirty and earthy and bitter. The hops are harsh. The beer lashes at your tongue.
And I love it.
This is not Heady Topper. It is not fun. It is beautiful in its own way. Darker than your average IPA, with a light head. Perfect IPA mouthful. So much onion flavor. Green onion and yellow onion.
