Wanted to note here that I was ready to do a full review when the people we were meeting at RFD showed up, and I thought it would be rude to sit and rate a beer when I should be socializing. Gave ratings of straight 4s to mimic my straight rating of 4. These should be ignored.
Here is what I recall, although I marked it with a want to do a real review.
The beer was a little on the dark side of amber/brown. I don't recall the smell.
The taste (as I recall) was a well balanced with some malt beginning, with some Belgian style notes of bitterness or yeast. The thing that really won me over was the seasonal "winter ale" spices that played into the balance very well, I thought.
Overall, I am thinking I might actually rate this higher upon a real review, but wanted to give people an idea of what I DID notice in a new beer. Please try and review.
