The colour is gold-orange, the liquid is a bit hazy. The low head is white, it disappears quickly into a very thin lid leaving no lacing.
The smell is a bit chemical with notes of oak wood, alcohol, bitter herbs, lemon cordial and butter-flavoured pop corns.
The taste is woody and herbal. Passing clean notes of lemon and lime juice. It is lighter than expected. Dense sweetness. Somewhat harsh wooden flavours. Medium to full body. The aftertaste got cleaner lemon-lime flavours and some toffee, it is dry with clean alcohol flavours. The short finish got notes of alcohol and sour lemon candy.
The carbonation is strong, but the mid-sized bubbles are very short-lived. The liquid is medium smooth.
I am not a huge fan of barrel ageing beer, the result is very seldom better than the original. This beer does not make me change that perception.

12oz bottle poured into a Forest & Main tulip.
A~ light brown with an orange glow. pretty much no head and no lacing at all.
S~ smells exactly like a whiskey sour that was spilt in the grass haha! lemon, dank hops, vanilla, caramel and a bit of booze.
T~ follows the nose to a T! more dank, what seems to be american hops here that gives it more of a lemongrass flavor just like in the base beer. nice bourbon presence but not over done. you can tell the barrel didn't have a heavy hand ha!
M~ not very carbonated but you could say thats what they were going for. trying to make it as close to a regular whiskey sour as possible. other than that super smooth and very drinkable. still surprised how well they hide the gravity!
O~ now technically this is still a HF colab. all they did was stick the base beer in a barrel and it says it on the bottle! haha! so it definitely demands a review! i seems to be all caught up with bottled colabs. at this point too! its seriously crazy how close they got to a regular whiskey sour, hard to believe this is a beer at points. definitely worth it!
