Big head. Amber or greyish brown colour. Very murky.

Smell is of oranges and some malt. It is a rather muted aroma.

The taste is somewhat bitter. Oranges are detectable. This reminds me of a weaker tasting Goose Island IPA.

Overall, a rather disappointing experience. There was nothing off or offensive and this was a pleasant beer but it was very mild in flavour and was more of a Pale Ale than an IPA.

I would mark this 75 out of one hundred.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2014, so it's rather out of date. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Described on the label as a version of Sound Wave that uses new German hop varieties (Comet, Polaris, Mandarin Bavaria and Huell Melon).

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A rich, hazy golden-amber hue with fine sediment and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.

S: Aroma of sharp, fruity hops with hints of clementine, citrus, white grape, mild melon, subtle tropical fruit, grass/hay, earthy yeast, caramel malt and faint stewed hops. A bit subdued but pretty good.

T: Tastes of light, fruity hops and dry yeast, with a bitter finish. Notes of clementine, mild peel, citrus, subtle white grape, a hint of tropical fruit, grass/hay, earthy yeast, vague caramel malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained, hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Quite astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of light fruity hops, leafy bitterness and earthy yeast.

O: Pretty good, though I suspect this bottle is past it's best. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are a subdued mix of fruity hop notes, leafiness and earthy yeast. Body is OK. Drinkable but faded. Still, an interesting expression of this IPA and I hope they do something similar in the future.
