If an IPA and a Pale Ale had a baby Junior would be it. Starting with a solid malt backbone of four varieties of grains, which are complimented by a heady dose of hops with an eclectic mix of citrus, tropical, and floral aromas. This all makes for an easy drinking beer that’s full of hop flavor.

Straw to gold color. Clear with an incredible amount of upward bubbles throughout the tasting. The moderate head never fades because of this. Good chunky lace.
Grapefruit and Juicy-fruit aromas. A bit prickly.
Highly effervescent with a neutral body. The malt (pale) is brief followed by a complex bittering profile. The finish reminds me of sage for some reason.

A- Clear pale golden pour from the can to a snifter. A small white head forms to a finger high with decent retention. A tiny ring at the edges leaves small splotches of lace.
S- Fresh hops off the top with a general mix of citrus, fruits, pine and floral notes at a low-medium strength. Hard to pull specifics and the hops play off of crackery barley and slight bread.
T- The hops are again kind of a blend of general hop character rather than bold specific flavors. Heavily influenced by floral and citrus zest hops with tropical, dank, herbal and pine notes as well. A few things like grapefruit, bubble gum, apricot and orange come to mind. A light sweetness and a hint of pale grains.
MF- Light bodied with a hint of frothy texture, somewhat on the watery wide overall. High end crisp carbonation and a hint of bitterness in the finish.
Solid flavor profile with a blend of citrus, floral and fruit hops lacking a distinct signature flavor.

Canned 9/29/17
Pours a huge frothy creamy head that fades slowly with sticky lacing, slightly hazy golden yellow color
Nose fruity hops with a mild sweet malt, a bit of stone fruit, but also grassy floral hops, mild citrus, fairly light though
Taste brings a fair dose of sweet malts, a bit of caramel and candy sweet malts, a touch toasty pale, fair hops, grassy a bit spicy and a touch fruity, a bit earthy almost herbal as well, ramping on the bitterness like an ESB, finishing dry and quite bitter, big spicy chewy a bit herbal hops lingering
Mouth is med bod, fluffy almost distracting carbonation
overall OK, not sure I would call this a session IPA, very bitter, quite malty and a bit sweet, more like an old school IPA or ESB.

Radiant Pig - Junior
Session IPA - 4.8% abv
Canned 9/29/17 (38 days ago)
L - 4-finger white head atop a sparkling yellow translucent body.
S - grass, pine, some sweetness.
T - bready malt up front. Pine in the middle. Bitterness kicks in at the end. A hint of butter but it's subtle.
F -medium-light body. Relatively high carb.
O - If I tasted this blind I would have guessed hoppy lager. The taste is enjoyable, but this strikes me more as a summer brew versus something to enjoy in November.

Brief initial impression from a can purchased as part of a 6 pack in Brooklyn for $9.79 plus tax and deposit:
Citrus (especially orange pulp) and pine are at the forefront here.
Mouthfeel is clean, smooth, wet, medium-bodied, and refreshing.
Drinkable, with a throwback citrus emphasis redolent of citrus-focused Californian IPAs (I guess the kids these days call them West Coast IPAs, nevermind Washington's disproportionately low contribution). Far from stellar, and it's tough to shell out $9.79 per sixer when vastly superior expressions of the style from the likes of Lagunitas or Bear Republic can be had for $0.50 more, but it's enjoyable for what it is. I'll reserve a final opinion until I can try it fresh on-draught, but with the wide availability of preferable brews in this oversaturated style, that'll be a long time.
