This is more like a novelty beer and it is drinkable but it's not anything you want to get drunk with or even have a session with. I best enjoyed it when I was craving a Reese's peanut butter cup. It is fascinating how the taste starts off like a normal beer and it just switches in the finish to what tastes like the can says it is. It's just weird though. It took a beer or two to get used to it but I won't be buying it again. Like I said... Novelty Beer. I can't cuss it but I can't say I love it. It's kinda cool. I rate this one as very hard to say because it's like liking something that sucks and you can't figure out why because it sucks and you usually don't like stuff that sucks. All I can say is try it and see what I mean.

12 oz. can

Appearance: Amber blonde body, white foam head fades, some particulate matter in the glass.

Aroma: Sweet, lots of chocolate, toffee, a bit of butterscotch.

Taste: Candy sweet, cotton candy, a slight salty note that almost brings out a pretzel element.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, low carbonation, a bit syrupy.

Overall: A nice dessert beer, very sweet, lots of chocolate, a white stout which I'm not a real big fan of, but this is Martin House, so I gave it a go. Glad I did, a real experience, worth a try.

Appearance - The beer was golden copper in color with a one inch white head.

Smell - The nose smelled like sweetened milk. It was dessert-like.

Taste - At the front, the sweet white chocolate was very detectable. There was a slight grain presence to give the impression of white chocolate covered pretzels. Yet still, there was some thing off about the taste. It was medicinal, and almost like an antibiotic. The off flavor lingered with the sweetness.

Mouthfeel - The carbonation seem to exhaust itself in the pour. The body was smooth with definite lactose.

Overall - There was something off here.

Notes from 1/12/2020.
Poured from a 12oz can into a Spiegelau stout glass.
The appearance is black with three fingers of quickly receding tan foam leaving a moderate amount of thin lacing and a cap. 3.75
The aroma has a medium strength. I smell salted pretzel, bread, a little caramel, and malt. 4.00
The taste is just above medium in strength, with salted pretzel, dark coffee, and a long roasted malt bitter finish. 3.75
The mouth feel is thick with very little carbonation and astringent. 4.25
Overall, the brewer achieved their salted pretzel flavored beer goal. I like stouts and I like pretzels but I don't care for a salted pretzel stout mash-up. 3.50

Pours a beautiful opaque brownish black with a thick tan head. Smells faintly of malt. Slightly sweet but overwhelmingly bitter and somewhat lacking in body. No discernible pretzel flavor. Disappointing.

$ 2.70 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.169/oz) at Total Wine, SATX
Undated can at 42 degrees into a hand washed and dried JK snifter
Aroma – roasted malt
Head large (Maximum 6.2 cm, aggressive pour), light brown, frothy, rapidly diminishing to a five mm frothy ring and thin partial layer
Lacing - none
Body – dark brown/black, opaque
Flavor – roasted malt with maybe, possibly, just might be a hint of pretzel. Ends with a slightly burnt taste with a long hang time. No hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate – medium to full, bordering on syrupy, soft carbonation

A passable stout, but not exceptional. Price point makes it something I’d buy again.
