Probably the best place we found in Key West to grab a beer. Lots to choose from with a great craft selection. No really high end IPA's, but something for every palate. Our bartender was awesome... very knowledgeable guy and hilarious. We didn't try the food, but there's a stellar pizzeria across the street. While here I witnessed one of my favorite beer snob interactions which bears sharing:

A guy walks into the bar... clearly off of the cruise ship that just docked, looks around in confusion and indignantly states something to the effect of " $4 for a bud light? They sell them for $2 at xyz down the street!"

Bartender looks at him, smiles, and replies "Yeah... but for $1 more you can get a good beer."

Loved it. (734 characters)

Huge place. Tons of beers on tap but nothing earth shattering mostly had "safe" craft options no one offs or harder to get beers on tap. Out of a lot of tap handles the best IPA they had on tap was Jai Alai. Stouts were under represented with Left Hand making an appearance. Bartender was very vague about beer descriptions so I'd say he didn't drink a lot of it. He was semi friendly but they were not busy at all. Buffalo Wild Wings type of atmosphere. Did not eat there so no idea of the quality of food. (507 characters)

The World of Beer has an insane amount of beers . The service was great and their knowledge of the beers made the visit even better. I enjoyed a mixed beer but can't remember what it was, unfortunately. This is one place that if you enjoy all types of beers, you can't miss the World of Beer. (292 characters)

WOB Key West is very similar to the other World of Beers that I have visited in Orlando, West Palm Beach, and Coconut Creek FL: Live music usually by solo or duet guitar players, no food but they don't mind if you order from nearby restaurants, good service, decent prices and a large selection of craft beer but for some reason not very much of a local selection.

This one is par for the course, however, I always enjoy myself at WOB. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, Key West is dominated by touristy bars that don't serve much good beer, so just the fact that this place exists just off Duval St is a good thing in my opinion. The place is kind of cookie-cutter but the selection of beers is probably the most extensive (despite few local FL choices) you will find off Duval St in Key West. I had a couple of Founders All Day IPAs and we hung out for like an hour. (873 characters)

This is my second visit to a WOB. This place was generally acceptable, but I wouldnt call this a "destination" in Key West. I would go to the Porch over this place any day. Lets get back to WOB.

There is absolutely NO atmosphere here. There are two "bars" that are laid out in a lengthwise fashion. Vacuous, metallic, cold, devoid of any life. If this place was on Steven street in Hometown USA, it would be an ultimate fail. They Have a large selection of beers, but nothing stands out. I can go across the street to the Porch for my "limited" selections.

Service consisted of some college type dude with a trucker hat saying "What ya need". I didnt ask for recommendations. I visited the back bar and was ignored for at least 90 seconds, on a Wednesday afternoon at 6pm. I got the Jai Lai and it was delicious.

Certainly worth a stop if walking by, but dont go out of your way. (885 characters)

I should love this place....but for some reason I don't. Don't get me wrong, the beer selection was top notch and I got to try a few beers that I've never had. I know that I'm spoiled as my local beer store carries 1000+ labels, so I'm not blown away by WOB. I found the wait staff to be pretty lackluster. I asked if they had any sours, either bottle or on tap, and the tender merely said "look in the Belgium section". Really? That's the guidance you're gonna give me? Well, I ordered a radler from the tap menu, which is a style I've never tried, and he had to go to the second set of taps in the back of the bar. Somewhat inefficient set up, and while it was not a busy afternoon, I could see this being problematic if it were. He plunked down my glass, took my money, and never returned to ask me anything. Yes, zero. Stopped by again the next day, different barman, similar scenario. With so many tourists as your customer base, many there from the cruise ships, you'd better be more than eye candy and the wow factor of a colorfully full fridge. When I return to Key West, which I do almost annually, I'll stop in again because it's the best selection in town, but I'll try a beer I've never had and then move on. They'll get my seven bucks a day... (1,256 characters)

Wow, what a selection. Very good selection and high quality craft beers with lots of tap beer choices and so many bottles I got lost. The bartenders know the product and know the area. The aesthetic is a little too clean and modern but relatively comfortable and the porch has no view, other than a wall. But do you go to a craft beer bar for the view?

I returned a year later with a bit more experience and a bartender who loved himself more than beer. I was disappointed. (476 characters)

I am a semi frequent visitor to Key West for work. This World of Beers is not too far from the hubbub of Duval Street, this WoB is in a great location and has a smart, engaging wait staff. When in Key West be sure to stop by and try their amazing selection in their open air bar. This is now on my "must stop in" list when I go to Key West. May 2013

UPDATE April 2015
Been in this WoB several times on this trip and the last one has me scratching my head. Cool bartender all night long. Shortly after my friend orders a Cigar City Cracker White, I order one. Well he says he's sorry but I'll have to go to the back bar he can't help me. Really? I guess I shouldn't asked the bartender for a beer. I'll be back but no longer on my "must stop in" list (757 characters)

Close to 700 beers from all over the world. If you are going to Key West, this is your best bet. Quality selections of crafts and imports, and awesome staff and atmosphere. Right around the corner from Sloppy Joes on Duval and Greene Streets. Nice bar food selection. (267 characters)
