As stouts go this was rather good, but not exceptional. It has its dark, coffee color as well as its coffee taste. It does have a decent taste; however, I could not get past the resemblance to a cola. The smell is rather muted, having to draw a heavy whiff in order to get a hint of flavor. The head is a cocoa in color and creamy, with a good lace. Mainly, it is a light stout if one would like a stout without the heavy flavor that stouts are known to have.

12 oz. can:

Pours dark brown with clarity. The head has decent retention with spotted lacing.

The smell is of cocoa powder, chocolate, some coffee.

The taste is of cocoa, coffee grinds, An odd leafy character comes through. Some alcohol shows. Slightly metallic aftertaste.

On the weak side. It's a mediocre-ish stout (and a bit over-priced - about 9 bucks a six-pack at Fry's on Valencia Rd. in Tucson.

$1 sixteen ounce pint can grabbed at a gas station.

Look - Black with light stricken edges. Head never fully forms and leaves no stick at all.

Smell - Slight coffee esque notes with a touch of roast and hop character.

Taste - Lightly toasted malts with a touch of coffee. Mild hop levels.

Feel - Watery body with low carbonation. Flavors all retain as stated above. Low bitterness.

Overall - A one dollar pint can only gives you so much in terms of expectations. I'd say this was worth a dollar but I wouldn't pay much more for it. Was a touch better than similarly priced canned stouts I've grabbed at random gas stations.

It pours a nice dark cola color with the smell of roasted malts. It had o e of the largest head when poured with lacing. The taste is of roasted malts with a light dry finish. The feel is a medium to thin, overall a good stout nothing overwhelming but enjoyable.

Very average stout. Decent head, very drinkable, just not memorable.

From 12 oz can into nonic pint. Chocolate brown body with a firm and creamy 2 finger head. Eventually, eventually recedes to a sliver.

Lots of dark malts on the nose - dry roast barley, cocoa malts; some sour lactic action and wort as well. Not off base, just not particularly satisfying.

Mostly roast malts, hints of unsweetened chocolate, and some prune juice. Some faint cola flavors as well. The sour lactic quality comes out too, and then ends on prune and bread crust.

Feel is slightly roasty, a bit on the thin side but still within medium bodied, and has a very faint dryness on the finish.

Diesel Punk Stout is okay, and I guess if I were dirt house poor I wouldn't mind picking this sixer up for $6.99, but at the same time I can get one bottle of really good stout for about the same price....hmm....
