I could hardly contain my excitement about trying this highly sought after beer. I was fortunate enough to find a beer bar in Brussels, Belgium which served bottles of this beer. This was my first time trying this beer. I found it again being served at the Cambrinus restaurant in Brugge, Belgium.
The beer was served almost at room temperature in a chalice. The color was a deep, dark brown. The aroma was of spices, fruit, and a hint of caramel.
The beer was rich and smooth and full of flavor-you could taste the spice, maltiness, and dried fruit.
I drank this beer slowly both due to its richness in flavor and because I wanted to savor this rare beer.
I feel very lucky to have had this beer more than once during my trip to Belgium!
