11.2 oz brown bottle with yellow cap and "import" label. Poured into a Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Deep, rich brown. Smallish off-white head with tiny compact bubbles. Beautiful lace rings as the glass is emptied. Lazy, but steady, carbonation.
Aroma: Complex aromatics. Raisins, figs, licorice, honey, citrus, bread. Sweet and spicy at the same time. Slight alcoholic tinge.
Taste: Rich. Complex. Sweet maltiness blends with earthy yeast and spicy alcohol in a swirling tornado of velvety goodness. Slightly dry, spicy finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and oh-so-smooth, this is a stunner!
Drinkability: Dangerously so at 10+%. More please.
This has been a "goal" beer for me for a long time. When a good friend saw a bottle, he picked it up for me. What a great friend!
I enjoyed this beer so much, that I will, without doubt, order it whenever it appears on a beer menu that passes in front of me...
