Poured it into a Chimay chalice to reveal a dark brown brew with some ruby highlights I guess. A bubbly fluffy tan head sticks around and leaves some markings on the glass. Quite a bit of sediment is chilling at the bottom.
Alcohol, yeast/bread, fruit, rounded out by some spiciness in the nose. Very nice.
This thing is pretty heavenly in your mouth. Medium bodied, creamy, with nice touch of carbonation. Malty, bready, and slighty fruity flavors abound. A touch of bitterness and alcohol are also there. This is a well rounded flavorful beer.
I’m not a huge fan of dubbels so I wasn’t too excited to drink this even though it’s a Westvleteren. Needless to say it blew me away.
