A: The beer poured a deep purple with a two-finger head that dissipated into a thin white foam.
S: Exquisite grape and dark fruit, some fruity phenolic character and a tiny touch of spice.
T/M: Incredible dark fruit and grape flavor with very low alcohol presence. The beer starts with a light bitterness and carbonation bite, followed by the dark fruit/malt flavor, and morphs into more complex drying fruit notes from the yeast. Very low phenolic astringency, the yeast blends into the flavor profile perfectly.
Overall: Extraordinary, one of the best belgian beer I have laid my hands on. I thought that all of the westy beers were just hype machines, but this is just magnificent, I cannot imagine that Westy 12 is any better.
