Pours an opaque onyx with a frothy beige head that lingers as a thin layer of foam.

Aroma is chocolate dominant, with notes of roast. Not getting much hop character.

Flavor is roast dominant, with light chocolate sweetness and floral hop notes, but the finish is coffee, charred, and bitter.

Body is on the full side, with lower carbonation side. The finish is a little harsh.

Wouldn't call it an ipa. More of a harsh stout, with a nutty character, coffee, and touches of chocolate. A little too bitter for my liking.

Black Cascade - HammerHeart Brewing Company. Poured from a 740 ml growler into a snifter, this beer's head is two fingers thick and eggshell brown, with web-like lacing, and a pitch black body.

Smells like pinier hops ,along with very skillfuly roasted malts. I've got a feeling this will be delicious...

I taste a very nice blend of pine and citrus hops that gel very well with the malt complex. This is the best tasting black ale I've experienced thus far.

The mouthfeel here is medium-light with fair carbonation. Clean finish with no lingering hop oils or resins.

Overall, I'll give Black Cascade - HammerHeart Brewing Company a 4.75
