I got a can of this beer off the single shelf from a grocery store near UW LaCrosse. It poured an opaque dark with ecru ring head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had coffee and roast notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright coffee presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown almost black with about a finger of light brown foam.
Smell: I love these collaborations with local coffee shops because they make for some lovely beers with great coffee flavor and depth. Roasty and earthy malts with chocolate, vanilla, and dark fruit.
Taste: Taste follows the nose and has a lovely coffee flavor. Roasty, nutty, and chocolate malts without being overly reliant on sweetness. Coffee bitterness is the perfect amount, not overbearing but also not watered down. In addition to the malt flavors vanilla and dark fruit are abundantly present and very enjoyable.
Feel: Medium bodied with correct amount of carbonation. Beer is smooth and despite the dark ale its fairly light.
Overall: This beer is great! I would certainly buy this beer and the brewery again. Often there is so many beers out there, its difficult to know which beer/brewery to choose but this beer and brewery are worth trying again. I hope to see more coffee collaborations in the future.

Poured into a nonic.
Pours dark as night with a spectacular rootbeer-float four fingered head that lingers quite well. Good lacing. Outstanding look.
Solid but nuanced coffee flavors blended with chocolate and earthy hops.
The brew hits the tip of the tongue with plenty of sweetness--cake-batter chocolate and creamy lactose. Then--the roasty roasted roastedness takes over with a vengeance. Coffee. And Coffee. And. Hm. Sweet, roasty, and bitter coffee. Just a touch of earthy hop, smoke, and astringency at the finish. Did I mention coffee? This isn't just coffee-influenced. This is coffee that apparently has beer in it.
The brew is smooth and somewhat creamy but very drinkable.
As tasty a coffee-centered brew as I can recall. Yet it's still definitely a Cascadian, as the earthy hops are all over the finish on this. Is it complex? Not so much. Do I care? Not a bit. This delivers on what it claims to be in every way.

Strong hints of coffee but very drinkable. I just wish Bent Paddle didn't charge a king's ransom for this beer otherwise it would be a staple product in my fridge.

12 oz can poured into a tulip pint glass. Looks and smells great, but the taste has a slightly sour/astringent note that doesn't totally ruin the beer but definitely makes it a one-and-done for me.

16oz pour at Whisky Inferno. Cool spot
Black, almost no head. Smells like roasted coffee beans and the taste very much follows. Coffee forward with a sweet malty backend and a bitter hop/bean finish. COFFEE BOMB
A tasty black ale, would be delicious on a cool fall night by the fire
