Had my best friend from WA bring me out a sixer of both this and their pale ale. Excited to see Yakima getting their beer out there.

A - pours a burnt orange, slight haze, nice two fingers of white bubbly head. Good lacing all the way down and nice amount of carbonation coming up.

S - nice fresh hop presence. Earthy notes at the end. Sweetness from the malts, but not overly scented, but that could be the glassware I used (snifter).

T - great hoppiness. Sweet malts come thru. Aftertaste of hops carries on the palate. West coast style IPA for sure, but also has beautiful pine/earthy qualities.

M - medium body, very smooth from the W Coast style. Finishes somewhat dry, not too sticky.

O - great beer. Was pretty surprised by this one. Drinkable and at 6.8% it is great.

12oz can from IAmJacksHopTongue (thanks man!). If the jumble of numbers on the side is Julian dating, this was canned 7/20/13 (but this did nir seem overtly out dated). Served in a Cigar City snifter.

Pours amber gold with a two finger pillow of pale head. A layer of froth lingers and imparts a good bit of lace.

A decent hop aroma but slightly muted. Mainly grass clippings, pine and citrus rind.

Taste follows the nose with grapefruit rind, citrus zest, fresh cut grass, orange, pine, cracker and black pepper. A standard blend that is pretty much I expect when I pick up an IPA.

Medium body, slightly oily with sharpish carbonation. Bitter finish of orange peel and grass.

A solid and easy-drinking no-frills IPA. It may not have a wow factor for me but there is certainly nothing wrong with it. It's a shame that the dating is ambiguous- I'm not sure if my lower rating is a matter of personal taste or if this may have suffered from a little age.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium, lightly coppery golden amber with a fine two finger just barely off-white head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of grassy, citrus hops with a hint of dankness, complex fruit dominated by orange family citrus and tropical fruit, an odd but interesting toffee note. Flavor is mixed caramel and biscuit malt with toffee notes and a hint of toastiness, orange family citrus, grapefruit rind. Finishes with long, lingering citrus and grassy hop bitterness. Pleasant lightly creamy medium body, which seems standard from this brewery (even with the pale ale I had this afternoon). I was a bit surprised by the flavor profile of this. While nicely malty and balanced with hops, it had much less herbal hop flavors that I expected from such a well received Northwest IPA. However the hops are not reserved and wonderfully balanced by the malt; the lingering hop flavors are great. The malt really grew on me more and more as I drank the glass. A very tasty IPA. Glad these IPAs are available on the West side now.

12oz can at 41 F poured into a pilsner glass. No canning code or date that I can find.

Pours clear golden with a slight copper hue, medium sized light tan head, fades slowly, medium amount of carbonation. Smell is nice, grassy, piney, crisp.

Taste is crisply bitter, with a surprising sweetness. Long slow bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is thick, full bodied. Overall, this is a pretty good beer.
