On tap at garage burgers. First thing noticeable about this beer is the murky brown color it has. Unlike any beer ive seen as it looks like dirty water. From a quick smell burnt malts are most present. Taste has the expected burnt malt with some sweetness. A little bit of citrus hop balances the strong malt body. Mouthfeel is smooth and fullbodied with small amount of carbonation. Overall, this is a very good red ale bordering on great. Very drinkable, goes great with a burger, and definitely worth trying. (89/100)

edit: Retried this with some noticeable differences. First, it was much more clear with a reddish slight brown hue. Second, hop profile and bite was much more noticeable this time. Possibly a fresher keg? Also, the burnt malt aspect was much more subdued. Overall, still a really good beer and even with new differences I'm not persuaded to change the score.

A: 1 finger tan head that leaves lacing everywhere. Hazed amber body.

S: Citric hops over some caramel & toasty malts.

T: Spicy & citric hops with a decent amount of caramel malt.

M: Medium- body. Fine, lively carbonation. Light hop oil coating at the finish.

O: Hop forward, but still in balance. Falls quickly.

Pours a hazy reddish-amber color. Thin white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Mild note of citrus and floral hops. Just a hint of malt. The malt is more noticeable in the flavor with biscuit notes and a hint of toffee. Good balance with the grapefruit hoppiness. Medium bodied and a touch undercarbonated. Personal preference would have been for a little more on the hop side, but that doesn't take away from the beer.

100% Cascade amber ale - old school American craft all the way. Murky pond water red-amber, thin white head that falls fast. The floral and citric Cascades stand out on the nose. Malt begins to open up some on the palate - biscuit backbone, husky pale malt, dark fruits, and a light brown sugar sweetness. Balance leans just slightly toward the hoppy side with more grapefruit and a grassy bitterness. An almost unnoticeable butter note lingers at the finish. Not bad, there are some nice flavors going on here but the whole thing needs to be cleaned up a bit, starting with the muddy appearance. Will revisit down the line to see if they have dialed this in.
