Poured into a pint glass a cloudy orange with a foamy head. Lots of lacing. Smells of citrus with a hint of hops. Grapefruit and pine hit the tongue first with a bit of a bitter finish. Medium mouth that's a bit oily. This is a nice beer. Not my favorite, but something I would enjoy from time to time.

Bottle poured in a Sam Adams glass.

A: Pours a slightly hazy orange/amber color. Two-finger creamy white head with good retention and lacing.

S: Aroma is big hops with lots of grapefruit and orange. A hint of pine.

T: Flavor is similar with a big punch of citrus hops and pear. A bit of caramel malt gives it just a hint of sweetness. Pine hops are noticeable in the finish.

M: Medium bodied. A bit of alcohol warmth. Moderate carbonation.

O: Very nice, well-balanced DIPA. The hops are definitely the main attraction here and you get a lot of that. But there is a good malt bill to keep it balanced. The malt is a bit sweet for my taste, but that’s a minor quibble. Overall, a very good beer and solid effort for this brewery’s first bottle offering.

A- Deep gold near amber in color. Hazy to opaque. Big off white head of about 2 fingers. Lacing that holds on to the side of the glass for dear life and retention that is not to be out done.

S- Aroma is a tribute to the cone shaped Humulus Lupulus. Dank hop oils with powerful citrus of grapefruit, orange zest/rind and tropical flavors of pineapple and mango. Touch of medicinal like pine.

T- Hop forward as nose indicates. All the hop character smelled with an additional acidic bite on the back end. Dry, cracker-like malt makes its way through just to keep it from going astringent.

M- Mid body, dry finish. Touch of alcohol present leads to a slight boozy warmth.

O- Just a very well done IIPA. A pleasant surprise. Not sweet or balanced as some other IIPAs tend to be, but this one is able to highlight the hops without generating an off-putting amount of bitterness.

$10.99 for 750 ml bottle

Served in a Dogfish Head IPA glass

A -Pours a hazed copper/amber color with a firmly tight head, off-white color. Loads of sticky lacing left from top to bottom

S - Big bouquet of hops, like sticking your nose in a bag of hop pellets, grapefruit oils, orange peel, green pine,

T - A mix of sweet citrus, papaya, and lychee fruit. Grainy malts add a nice generic background to let the hop flavors show. Sweet grapefruit starts dominating as it warms with pine etching in on the back end. The bitterness seems to hold steady from early middle to finish, with some resinous citrus oil left on the palate.

M - Light side of full body, fine bubbled carbonation, somewhat hefty feel.

Most DIPA's tend to be less hoppy than regular IPA's with the high amounts of malt just snuffing out the hops. This is one of the few out there that really pack in alot of hop flavors with descent bitterness and still provide a malt bill that compliments and doesn't get in the way.

25 ounce bottle poured into one of those odd sam adams glasses

A: 3 finger off white head with good retention & loads of lacing along the glass. Lightly hazed amber/orange body.

S: Orange, grapefruit, pineapple, all in good strength with just a hint of biscuit. Excellent aroma.

T: Nice bitter hop bite up front. A little alcohol & some sweet malts fight there way through on the back end. Tropical & citric hop flavors throughout.

M: Medium+ body. Relatively low carbonation. Warming finish w/ a light hop oil coating.

O: Very nice offering. Runs a little sweeter than my favorite DIPAs, but then most of them do. Still, plenty of hops (just far more orange/tropical than pine/resin/grass) – and well restrained alcohol (for 10%). My only real complaint is the 25 ounce bottle. I may miss work tomorrow.
