650 ml (1 pint 6 fl oz) bottle, no apparent bottled on date present. An American adjunct lager imported from India. Seems to be a fairly uncommon brew, with only 7 ratings as of this writing. Acquired at the local beer store for around $2.79. Keeping low expectations for this one.

Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.

A - Pours the standard lager gold color, with a bit of bubbles lazily floating to the top. Virtually no head on this one. Somewhat of a murky looking brew. My second pour I was more fortunate and managed to conjure about a finger of sizzling white head which dissipated within seconds.

S - Prominent dusty malts up front, with a bit of whiskey or vodka alcohol smell coming through somewhat strong. Apples.

T - Wow, extremely crisp malty texture upfront. Tastes like an alcoholic apple juice, to be quite honest. Doesn't remind me at all of the swill adjunct lagers that permeate America. Reminds me more of some type of cider or apple wine. Somewhat coppery. A subtle smoked wood / bourbon vanilla taste, even.

M - Carbonation tingles the tongue at first, and then calms down with a smooth clean finish. Crisp, light body.

Overall, a bit of a strange experience, but somewhat of a nice surprise. Judging by it's given style, I was expecting corn water swill, but once again, an imported American adjunct lager beats the hell out of those actually brewed in America. Moderate 6.00% abv, high drinkability, not remarkable tasting, but not bad either. I guess if you manage to spot a bottle, give it a shot.

I figure I'll just get to the point on this one.
It's a golden colored strong lager that's bordering on bock or more likely just malt liquor level strength.
It's got a nice color, but it's too strong to be really drinkable, and it's too sweet to pair with much.
If you're at an Indian restaurant, go with Kingfisher or maybe a Dansberg. Skip this as it's too strong and sweet. It's probably just the Indian equivalent of Colt 45.

Poured out of a really thick brown bottle. Wow, it is twice as heavy as a normal 12 oz'er. It has a roaring 2 inch head in my guinness pint glass and it settles into a moderately carbonated golden beer. I noticed slight lacing. Good looking beer. The smell is also quite pleasant and interesting. Apple skins, lemon zest, belgian candi sugar, complex alcohols, malt backing, and dry-ish. The taste leave a lot to be desired... It's bready, creamy with hints of apple, banana, corn and really bitter metallic hops. The hops ruin it. It is a terrible combination. There is no transition or smoothness between the creamy flavors to the medicinal, bitter hops. Hot alcohol also starts to peer through at the end as it warms. Mouthfeel, average. Drinkability, not so much.

found this at my " beer supermarket " on sale for $0.96 ea.; pours a light golden color w/ a very slight head which dissapates quickly and leaves minimal lacing behind ; smells quite ricey w/ some " moldy " undertone and a slightly alcoholic aroma, reminds me of sake' almost ; the flavor was quite similar to the smell, thin, flat & alcoholic w/ that same " moldy " undertone, slight metallic taste as well ; a light body w/ some faint dextrins to hold what few bubbles there are in your mouth a little too long ; i hate to sound like i'm bashing a beer, but this stuff is nassty, i've put down half a 355 reviewing it & think i'll pour the rest out

I never heard of this beer before and I still have yet to see it in a regular liquor store. Found it at a specialty Indian food store while shopping for certain ingredients I needed, so if you want to try this you may have a hard time locating it outside a specialty shop. It comes in a large brown 650 ml bottle with gold foil wrapping on the neck and a lable that pictures what I assume to be 2 Hindu statues facing each other and smiling. What made me laugh a bit was the so generic name they gave this beer - "India Special Quality Lager Beer".

The pour produced a slightly hazed pale yellow color with a two finger head that disappeared almost as fast as it rose. It left no lacing at all.

It smells like a lot of other lagers - corn adjuct and grass. At least it had no skunkiness to it.

Tasted like a typical American macro lager. Has an initial caramel-like sweetness to it mixed with a grainy taste with enough carbonation to make it dance on your tongue. The hops are barely noticeabe until the finish. A light bodied, crisp, average, run of the mill lager that has to be drunk very cold. Warming this beer does nothing for it except make it undrinkable. Nothing I would seek out again, but also wouldn't refuse it if offered.

An oddity from the stock of Hi-Time in Costa Mesa.

Quite strong carbonation gives a good hiss and pop when opened.

In the glass we have a yellow beer that is nearing the color gold with a reasonably good white head.

Smell is malt and some strong corn adjunct scents. Smell is a little sweet and a bit grassy with some mild spicy aromas from the hops.

Taste is sweet and grassy at the start not unlike the flavor of Sing ha. Somewhat spicy and herbal from the hops used the flavor is pretty much Euro lager with an Asian accent. Good solid bitterness in the after taste but this isn't a bitter beer. Fairly clean flavor that is a bit sweet this is a beer tuned to go well with sweet and spicy Asian style foods. Different in the way that Singha and Tsingtao are this really belongs in an "Asian Lagers" category. Not outstanding alone but a very good complement to the foods and climate of the region in which it is brewed.

Mouthfeel is good. A bit on the light side as most lagers from the hotter parts of the world are.

Drinkability is on par with Singha and Tsingtao. A better than average Asian lager that I wouldn't really buy again on its own; but I WOULD buy this to go with spicy food in an Indian or Thai restaurant. As it was this went very well with my rather insanely spiced Guacamole and chips I made this morning. Recommended for drinking with the proper foods.
