Everything you would expect from a great American India Pale Ale: Hop-forward, yet civilized. Bitter but balanced.
Amarillo and Simcoe ring loud and clear with citrus and tropical notes that are backed up by a chorus of our other favorites - Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, and Citra.

Big, bold, bitter West Coast IPA, not for the faint of heart, great pungent hop nose. Again, the bitterness is legit, and the palate is almost sharply clean, so steer clear if you prefer the kinder, gentler sort of IPA, but, to my palate, this was great.

A bit of an odd one here. Very good mouthfeel, creamy even. I bit tart on the tongue. Can't place the flavors. Looks great in the glass, golden with snow-white lacing. I like it!

Had this out of a can. A very competent IPA, not as bitter as many other West Coast offerings. Hard to find this in the DC area - found it in Tucson

Bought a tallboy (actually 19.2 oz) at my local AM/PM expecting something like Steel Reserve because it has a can that looks like it. Poured into a 12oz bar glass from the can. Nice frothy head; nice haze; a little floral or lemony smell. Nothing overpowering. But the taste is amazing! It's not like a usual California IPA with overpowering hop flavor (not that I'm complaining). This is a sophisticated, balanced IPA, almost as good as something from Lagunitas.

19oz can purchased on the Tulalip Reservation outside Marysville, Washington yesterday. Pckd date is 1/14/19.
From this sample I don't really get the good ratings, Rather bland looking and it's one of those bitter pine bombs, I get this is an oldschool California IPA mill known for these but the high rating is ridiculous.
For today's market this gets a decent C, second tier IPA.

19.2oz can BB 08/12/19...2 months left.
Pours clear straw. Head dissipates to a skim quickly.
Any aroma is very faint.
Taste is clean, light Not much sign of the Amarillo/Simcoe duo...but some noticeable generalized hop flavor and bitterness. Slight drying aftertaste.
Not great, not bad. Perhaps this recipe was more influenced by the "artists, musicians, skateboarders, and snowboarders" than S.A.'s "world-class brewers".....!

Golden yellow in color with perfect clarity. Poured with a short, creamy white foam with medium low retention. Malty and medium citrus hop aromas. Medium bodied with medium high carbonation and light warmth near the finish. Medium citrus hop flavors with light spiciness. Medium hop bitterness and a medium malty backbone. Finished with herbal and spicy hop bitterness that quickly tapers. A well balanced, easy drinking IPA.
