1 PINT can
Served in a snifter

A - It is a deep red color and topped with three inches of tan head leaving very little lacing.

S - Citrus and pine are at the forefront of this beer. There is also the distinct smell of a red ale. I got a ton of mango when I bought this beer three weeks ago. The mango is gone now.

T - It tastes like a red IPA. It is citrusy up front but has a red ale base that balances it. Once again the mango that I tasted merely three weeks ago is gone.

M - Medium leaning towards full.

O - I absolutely loved this beer three weeks ago. It was a mango explosion. Now it is a good hoppy red ale. I will definitely make the hour trip south to check out Seventh Son and have some fresh American Strong Ale.

On tap at the source.

A - Garnet / chestnut colored pour with very dense, crealy lacing that sticks to the sides of the glass.

S - Sweet caramel malt aroma with some faint candy citrus.

T - Rich sweet malt base with some resiny citrus sitting underneath and finishes on the sweeter side.

M - Big and viscous on the texture that's silky smooth and finishes wet but eventually dries the back of the tongue out.

O - Wasn't sold on this beer at first but really starting to dig it. Nicely done.

draught
Medium dark auburn, with a bit of chestnut overtones, for the look. Funny, off-spiced, fruit punch note to the medium dark roast malt aroma, with a bit of caramel. A slight bite with a tare tinge and a touch sweet, with a caramel note, for the taste.

Canned on 7/9/20. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a glowing amber with subtle clarity; big fluffy and rocky khaki head that sticks around leaving great thick retention and sticky frothy lacing. The aromas are malt forward along with some caramel, toffee and citrus. The flavors are very clean, crisp and refreshing for the style. More caramel and toffee. Hints of orange and grapefruit. Subtle bitterness. It's not that sweet. Malts do their thing without completely dominating. It finishes pretty clean and even a little dry. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is nice. It's medium-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, crisp, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a nice brew. It's extremely clean and crisp. There's something about this one that I really like. It's "simple", but in a really good way. It has a "red ale/hoppy red ale" vibe going on and probably isn't what you think of when you hear "Strong Ale", probably because of the "lower" ABV for the style. The craftsmanship is on point and really takes this beer to the next level. Well done. I really like it.

I got a can of this beer from the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured a clear amber with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle fresh hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with fresh hop finish . The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a good beer.
