Cherrywood and American Oak aged DIPA
This deep bronze double IPA starts with large additions of Amarillo and Horizon hops in the kettle then settles back for several months of aging on Cherrywood and Oak. Following its time spent on wood we finished Woodwolf with a generous amount of Citra, Amarillo and Centennial in the dry hop. Bitter citrus peaks out from behind a rich malt backdrop featuring faint vanilla and touches of classic American Oak.

Pours copper with a fairly thin head... but it sticks around. The smell is of oak (and cherrywood I presume, but I am not so familiar with it) and citrus-tones from the hops. I can pick out the Amarillo readily, the others, not so much. The flavor is of deep wood and malt with the sweet, bright and very fruity hops making a distinctly complex mix in this brew. It is slightly too syrupy to be drinking a ton of, but here I am, attempting to take on the whole 750!
Overall, I feel this beer comes off as a Burton-esque rendition of an oaked IPA and I would highly recommend to any who like those beers (especially Burton Baton).

If this was FFF, people would be pissing themselves.
Had on draft at a beer festival, drawn by "someone" from the brewery; this makes me think it's relatively fresh. It tastes exactly as it was advertised: Cherrywood and Oak aged DIPA. Those wood additions come through nicely in a well done DIPA of the danky hop, chewy malted type.

750 ml bottled. Bottle is not dated. Poured into a large tulip glass. This beers pours a burnt amber/copper color. After pouring a 1 finger of white foamy head remained with excellent lacing. Quick smell from this there is no doubt it is a east coast IPA with tons of malt characteristics up front with a slight scent of tropical notes hidden in there as well. The taste is just what it smells like with a hint of the barrel aging coming along with it. At 9.3% ABV there is zero hint of alcohol in this classic east coaster. Just another fantastic beer coming from Seventh Sons in Columbus.

Hmmm. This here is a very solid IPA. Unique and very tasty.
It was a father's day gift, but seeing as it is an IPA and already aged, time to drink. I may have underrated it on all accounts, but it is truly outstanding in all regards across the board.
It is a dark IPA look - I expected darker yet, but it's just a dirty yellow. The aroma is complex and GOOD. There are all kinds of cool overtones in there - fruity, woody. Nice. I need to bump the rating even higher.
The taste is big - sweet, bitter, woody. Like a whiskey water without any whiskey taste - the barrel is there but its not whisky barrel. Again, very nice. The burp is a seriously taste thing too.
I am really enjoying this. I hope that on a future trip to Columbus (and I go there a lot) I get more of this or stop by their place. Nice one, sonny.

750 ml bottle, no dating on the bottle or label that I notice. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours an amber/copper color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like pine and citrusy (grapefruit, citrus peel) hops, oak, cherrywood, and caramel malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some candied fruit and herbalness, with a lingering bitter hoppy finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and a bit syrupy and is also well carbonated. I liked this, if you get a chance to try this wood aged brew I recommend it! $12.99 a bottle.

Look - Clay body. Light tan head. Lacing. No particulates but hazy. Fine bubbled foam.
Smell - Malt. Resin. Sweet. Citrus.
Taste - Oaky malt up front. Bitter pine. Cherry in the aftertaste.
Feel - Tongue curling finish. Light carbonation explosion. Creamy.
Overall - The oak is there and not overpowering. The IPA bitterness and citrus notes are not lost in the aging.
