Consumed from a growler filled 05/07/13 over two days. Real Ale glass one day and a BB Vanilla Porter snifter next day.

A - originally poured a little carb heavy producing approximate 2.5 fingers of head from an aggressive pour into a freshly rinsed clean glass. Mahogany colored that appears very clear as the glasses emptied.

S - was fairly muted when colder but when the temp came up it produced lots of jam and jelly fruit aromas with some stone fruit and a touch of caramel paired with a slightly present bready/biscuit malt type profile.

T - dark fruits like sweet plum appears right off the bat. The slight biscuit aroma comes though in the flavor but almost like a gourmet pb&j. Kind of fruity, kind of nutty, kind of bread and biscuity. It does have some tropical hop flavor too it which pairs well with the jam and bread flavors. Very smooth - no fusel or alchohol detected which makes it easy to drink. A slightly hoppy and bready malt profile lingers on the back end.

M - medium bodied. It finished with a slightly drying malt flavor and some hops that almost cleanses your palate on its own, setting me up to quickly grab another sip.

D - see comments above in D. The way the beer pairs with itself it's very easy to drink for almost 8%. No detection of alcohol either.

Overall a very nice beer in a style void in most breweries. The fruit, malts and hops combine in this one to make me want to keep taking sip after sip. It's weird I can't say exactly why this bed makes me want to keep drinking it but it does - it just works. No off flavors, which is nice to see from a new brewery in Columbus for once.

Great looking beer. At first the nose was boisterous on a hop edge, but seems much more toned down now. Flavor is a smooth mix of malts and hops. Certainly not as hoppy or strong in malts as others in the style. But what is here is smooth and a good mix. A nice and pleasant sweet tone shows as time goes on. Carbonation is a bit too high and biting at me. A very nice drinker and a really smooth beer. Not the typical strong ale presentation, and I am a-okay with that.
