Easiest beer store to get to from where I live. They have a pretty decent selection of beer that I can't get at my regular grocery store which is nice. Perfect for a regular micro you might be carving but short on less common beers. In general I don't come here for beer unless I just really don't feel like driving to Spec's or Grape Vine Market. When you can find a beer person they are nice and knowledgeable but finding them can be tricky. Prices are a tad higher than normal but the sales can be pretty good.

Whole Foods Arboretum is a good store. It has a nice location (if you're in north Austin) in the same complex as a bunch of other big stores (Best Buy, Container Store, REI, etc.) and a megaplex theater. It's also right across the street from one of Austin's brewpubs: North by Northwest. The parking lot out front is uselessly small, but there are plenty of other conjoined parking lots in the complex.
The beer section is a little small compared to the other main beer spots in Austin. But there's some nice variety. Note that the warm beer shelves and the cold beer shelves are separated by a couple of wine aisles. And while most of the beers are repeated in both sections, there are usually some beers in each section that aren't in the other. Make sure you check both!
The only other caveat is that some of the stock can sit for a while. My first experiences with Real Ale BC (from Blanco) weren't all that good, possibly because I bought some really dusty bottles from the warm beer shelves at Whole Foods. On the other hand, I got lucky and found some North Coast Old Stock 2001 long after I thought it was gone forever.
Overall, a good place to pick up some classic micros and imports (and to stock up on bulk nuts while you're at it).

The Arboretum location of Whole Foods offers a very wide selection of beers, both domestic micro brews and imports. The selection of Belgian beers is particularly good, Texas-brewed beers and seasonal brews are also stocked in depth. A wide selection of beer glassware is offered, ranging from Belgian ale goblets to Pilsener glasses to vanity tapglasses from a number of microbreweries. The selection of gourmet foods and wines is absolutely superb. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are generally in the upper moderate range for Austin.
