12 oz can was poured into a pint glass.

Appearance: This beer poured a one finger head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pale orange color with good clarity and bubbles coming up through the glass. Nice lacing on the glass as the beer was drank too.

Smell: Bready and caramel malts followed by fruity and citrus aromas.

Taste: Mmm, much more noticeable hop flavors. Tropical and citrus flavors with mild hop bitterness, chewy malts, light caramel too.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, chewy, tingly bitterness, medium bodied, and medium carbonation.

Overall: Pretty solid APA from the new north shore brewery out of Massachusetts. All their beers come in cans too, which is extremely convenient too. Will be looking for more of these in the future.

12 oz can from the brewery in a mixed sixer (only available on site) . Poured into a SAPP glass.

A - very pretty. Hazy golden orange. Nice and bright. Tan - white head about two fingers. Good lacing.

N - sweet and hoppy. Lemon notes. Kind of flowery.

T - follows the nose. Quite hoppy with grapefruit and sweet pine. Toasted biscuit background. A bit too hoppy to call really well balanced, but it isn't too unbalanced. Pleasant with some bite.

M - smooth. No surprises. Bit of an aftertaste but nothing bad.

O - very satisfying pale ale from my hometown. Cheers!

Consumed 11/30/13

Appearance: Pours a clear, orange-gold color - small, off-white head, fades to a small collar and leaves some nice lacing

Smell: Citrus and some pale malts, pretty standard for the style - floral and candy-like - candied oranges and grapefruits - citrus is kind of strange overall, seems oddly extract-based, almost artificial - some grass as well - pale, caramel, and what smells like a hint of amber malts

Taste: Bitter and hoppy, but the hop profile is rather strange - straight-up bitterness, oily orange and grapefruit rind - bitter, candied citrus pith - sticky, oily bitter aftertaste - malts are mostly caramel, with some lighter, paler notes and some more toasted notes - above-average sweetness, which doesn't work well with the bitterness

Mouthfeel: Medium body, low carbonation, smooth at first, but the sticky, oily aftertaste is really not what I'm looking for in an APA

Overall: Yeat?

There are lot of charming, easy-drinking American Pale Ales out there. This isn't one of them. This tastes like it kind of wants to be an IPA, but the hops are oddly candy-like and inexplicably bitter. I think some may appreciate this unique profile, but it's not really what I'm looking for.

Starts off a little aggressive, you can not help but think the brewer filled the contents of the 12 oz can with an IPA . The beer is very hoppy for a pale ale, through me off a little bit. Towards the end it started to develop a some what flat maybe slightly stale after taste . Overall this is a great beer and enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend this beer to someone who is not interested in IPA's, otherwise go get it...YEAT!
