This might be the best session IPA I’ve tried. The color is interesting- a little darker and redder than expected. It’s sweet, but not cloyingly so. Would definitely seek this one out.

From the pint can, it pours a hazy orange amber color with a nice large off-white head that slowly reduces and leaves lots of lacing. The nose gets a nice bit of orangey citrus with some malt after. The taste is pleasant, with orange notes followed by malt - lightly bitter aftertaste with a smooth creamy feel.

This beer pours a hazy, dark orange/amber with a head that leaves some lacing behind. The smell is orange with some floral hints. As for the taste, it’s sweet caramel at the start with orange and bitters after. It’s very easy-drinking and has more flavor than you’d expect from a session.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar amber colored and cloudy; a decent head leaves behind a few shards

Smell: Orange tones with an underling hint of caramel

Taste: A hint of caramel, on the front end, and then the orange tones take over, bringing moderate bitterness, through the middle; a bit of sweetness lingers through the finish

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A pleasant IPA with an old school angle; flavorful for the ABV

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned April 13th 2017.

Cloudy amber body, with a touch of orange color. Fine carbonation rising to a good thick head, off white and color standing at an easy three finger tall height. Good clumpy retention with a mix of island top and sudsy clumpy lacing.

Nice aroma. Clean sensing light fruity qualities, hints a faint orange and almost marmalade like qualities. Light faint hints of toasty brown sugar on the malt bill making for a nice compliment. Excellent hop quality and character.

Light bodied but full of solid hop and IPA qualities. Soft orange with only a slightly pithy and chalky taste. Mild touches of soft malted caramel on the finish, with a soft bitterness complimenting a simple sweetness. Nearly chewy mouthfeel, which makes up for a lighter almost wet like character on the mouthfeel.

This is nearly the missing link between solid IPA goodness and sessionable weakness.
