A classic style pub in a scenic little town in the scenic little mountain town of WNC. What more could you want?! Great knowledgeable staff (Thanks, Charles) and some awesome brews and really good food menu. Tipping Point's Pale Of The Dragon APA was the stand out for me, but everything in my flight was excellent. I shall return...Boojum is just down the block too.
Went back 5/31 for lunch, and got the blackened mahi tacos with a flight of
Pale Of the Dragon Pale Ale
Hiking Viking Blonde
Chunky Gal Amber Ale
Plott Hound Porter
All were excellent reps for each style, even better than I remembered! The 3 tacos were awesome, and My wife's Chicken Nachos were incredible as well. All the greens, crispy and perfect, house salsa nice and hot, and staff pretty hot too! If you're within the area, or passing by, I highly recommend it. For the prices, it's unbelievably better than anything in Sylva. Much more like a miniature Asheville.

Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon, around lunch time. This place has more of a bar and grill type feel, which is fine, I think I'm just getting spoiled by the brewery/tasting room type places in Asheville that i tend to perfer. All 8 taps are house brews (which I was told was a fairly recent development, as the brewery just expanded), but there are plenty of other beer choices in bottles, as well as wine and liquor. Most people were in there eating food, I was the only one sitting at the bar just drinking beer. (So cant comment on the food quality). Service was attentive and friendly, which is always an important point to me when rating a place. The beers I had were all solid, certainly nothing close to offensive, but nothing that jumped out as overly exciting either. Still, there are a couple other beer destinations right in the area, and if you find yourself around here to explore those or for any other reason, this is a nice little joint that I feel like is worth a stop.

Stopped in while in the area, and this spot has a great feel as soon as you walk through the door. Some outdoor seating, as well as a little bar seating area against the front window so you can street watch, if you choose. Lots of booth seating on the left hand wall, and the bar is on your right. Past the bar, and there are open tables. Plenty of room, and there is a ton of swag and decorations all over the walls, from old movie paraphernalia to beer and booze stuff. There are a few televisions up along the walls, too. They had 3 of their own house beers available on draft, as well as 5 other taps of local and national craft brews. Decent bottle list, as well. The staff was friendly enough, but our food order was a wee bit on the slow side coming out, and I mean really slow. Other than that, we really had no complaints. The food was solid, and the menu is gastropub, with some really unique items to spice it up a bit. I recommend the fish tacos. Beer to go in growlers, as well as a ton of swag. Great little place on the main drag of this quaint mountain town.
