Very dark brown color. Not much head. Notes of leather, chocolate, and coffee on the nose and palette. Pumpkin and spice flavors are present, but minimal. Medium bodied, silky smooth mouthfeel, and a dry finish. Overall a nice porter. As a pumpkin beer, though, it’s a little lacking.

16oz can poured into a snifter
A- pours a deep black color with a one-finger creamy khaki colored head that reduces to a thin film flowing on top
S- very roasty nose with plenty of charred malt that gives aromas of chocolate and coffee, even brings out a bit of roasted pumpkin aroma as well. Undertones of cinnamon & nutmeg
T- roasted charred malt up front gives notes of bitter-sweet chocolate, followed by spices of cinnamon and nutmeg, a hint of clove. The finish gives more charred malt and cinnamon on the linger
M- medium-light body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns slightly creamy into the finish
O- plenty of roast on the base beer pairs well with the spices and even brings out a roasted pumpkin flavor, pretty good

2017 canning, date not legible except for 2017. Typical black pour for a porter. World class head volume, normal lacing and retention.
Very good nose that has a moderate amount of roast and chocolate. Light spice notes are evident that are cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and possibly cardamom. Pumpkin is present and tends to express itself underneath.
Light bodied with a smooth texture that comes across as slightly watery. Carbonation / body balance is done well but strikes me as a bit under carbed. Effervescence is present mid-palate and is slightly prickly in the finish.
The flavor profile is quite outstanding and provides a world class balance. Pumpkin is more pronounced than in the nose while the spices balance it and the porter aspects perfectly. Bitterness is very mild with only a hint of roast. Chocolate makes a short subtle appearance over the hint of sweetness provided in the middle. When the mid-palate sweetness fades, the spices and porter aspects come to the forefront. Surprisingly, here is where pumpkin is also at its strongest. The ride to the finish is quite complex and flavorful. The finish is a slow fade that gives the strongest roast aspect.
