Bottle 75 (shared) of 1000, batch 2 I believe.

Color is red-auburn with a white creamy bubbly head. Lace ribbons form here and there as I go. Aroma is very fruity....tropical, peach, cantaloupe, touch of lemon, some zesty pine, sweet apple, all sinking into a solid malty base of caramel biscuit-breadiness. Taste is sweet and similarly fruity with subtle bitterness throughout that picks up casually through the finish. Has a full syrup-like quality to it in texture and sweetness. Not dry. The idea of a saucy DIPA keeps coming to mind. This could be refined a bit but overall I like it for what it is. Good aromas, good flavors, and fresh. A bit sticky and syrupy but that's not bringing me down very much. This possibly sounds weird, but its almost like a tropically hopped wee heavy or something.

Batch #2
Bottle: 75 of 1000

Deep reddened amber color with a dense, frothy off-white head that lasts for a few minutes before settling to a bubbly covering. Sticky, ripe fruit hits the nostrils first...lots of peach and apricot-like hops with an underlying pineapple quality. Malts and booze are pretty tame, but do lend a slightly spicy freshly cracked grain aroma. Full hop flavor, though not an absolute lupulin explosion. There's a fair amount of malt actually, backing up the oily fruit characteristics and adding sweetness to the already sweet fruits. Tropical, yet leafy, with lots of orange pulp. Feels heavy, but the bitterness is tame. I wish they would dry it out some. As it stands, one glass is plenty as this wears on the palate a bit. Nice qualities, just a little too cumbersome in the overall presentation.

Bottle 60 of 1000. Poured in a shaker pint, the beer is a bright, slightly hazed, ruby-copper coloring with a thin, low profile, light tan head. Aromas of caramel sweetness, pine resin, tropical fruit, and subtle citrus highlights. Smells big and malty. Flavors are malt forward, with heavy toffee and tropical sweetness blending nicely, followed by a solid dose of pine resin. Mango, pineapple, and apricot throughout, with pine tassel and cut grass spicing up the tail end of the brew. Smooth, robust bodied, which it has to be to support this palate. This brew is big. Richly sweet aftertaste, with a highlight of citrus and hints of spice. The finish has a richly sweet, citrus sweet, and subtle resinous linger. This is big, but drinkable. Tasty brew!

Thumbs up!! Bottle 390 of 1000. Nice tone. Clean Finish. I am pleased to add this collaboration to my belt. I would definitely have another. Hour and a half drive to snag this one. Well worth the drive. Thanks Deep River! I look forward to your future endeavors.

Pours a clear brownish gold body with minor head and lace and class hop aroma with touches of grape and possible tropical fruit and touches of sweet caramel. Great balance between hops (citric and grape) and the sweet malts. Light to medium body, easy to drink and crisp finish. Perhaps only knock on this beer is that while it has great balance it just has no complexity and the taste profile hits few notes.

22oz bottle poured into a Teku Glass. Bottle 306 of 500 hand written on side.

This is a collaboration with Trophy Brewing.

Pours a cloudy dark copper color with an inch or so white head. The smell is big and hoppy, but i can also smell a lot of malts. not much flavorful aroma on the nose. Ohh the taste though is much more impressive than the nose. Malty as you first sip it but then your palate gets a bombarded by hoppy goodness. Ends with a lingering hoppy flavor and just a tad of bitterness (surprising, i expected this to be much more bitter!) This is actually quite impressive, especially from such a small brewery (well, 2 small breweries.) Higher side of medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Overall very impressed by this DIPA. Would drink again if its ever brewed in the future.

Had 3 or four samples of this at Hickory hops. Wonderful beer. Great balance and drinkability.
